A lovely day out (best done in dry weather) for all the family, Bristol zoo will sadly close in the next 2 years and many of the animals are moving to Wildplace where there is tonnes of space. The wolves are our favourites

The Forest of Dean is a 40min drive over the Severn Bridge in to Wales then popping out again in to England. If you are in to Mountain Biking the Pedal-a-bike away centre is the place to start, the forest is also great for walks, Symonds Yat is a favourite. Why not drive back down the Wye Valley and stop in Tintern to see the Abbey.

The wave is great, not cheap but the tuition, equipment and facilities are worth the cost. The cafe is a great place to grab a coffee while others surf!

Combine the Wye Valley with forest of dean for a lovely day in beautiful surroundings. Tintern Abbey, Offa's Dyke, Symond's Yat are all favourites.

A must do if you are in Bristol. Go up the tower to see the amazing camera obscura and giants cave, look out for the Slidey stone in front of the obscura - for a natural slide
