Hiking
If you're looking for a nice place to take a walk through the woods (or on a paved road) and get some great views, check out this park just about a 5 minute drive from our house. At the top of the one-way, circular road, there's a trail on the right which will take you on a short walk to the lookout or "jump off site" which has a spectacular view of the valley. You can also catch the Finger Lakes Trail here and hike endlessly. There's a nice playground at the top of the hill as well.

If you're looking for a bit of an adventurous hike, Conklin's Gully is always a favorite with our guests. You can either hike on the challenging paths or straight through (and up and up!) the riverbed.

Letchworth is often referred to as the Grand Canyon of the east. There are lots of options for viewing the gorge that runs through the park, you can decide how rigorous you'd like it to be. There are plenty of drive-up views and even more spectacular ones if you're willing to hike. When there's been enough rain, the river will be rushing, but later in the season it's often drier.

1 Letchworth State ParkLetchworth is often referred to as the Grand Canyon of the east. Canandaigua is a fun town to walk around, whether it's shopping in the classic downtown area, or strolling along the park on the waterfront. There are also quite a few restaurants to choose from.

This is a really cute and scenic place to check out some local wines. You might even be able to catch some live music. This is great to combine with a meal at Roots Cafe which is literally steps away.
