Entire historic district of restored colonial town. Many buildings open as part of museum tour, but also places to eat and shop. Best kept secret, many people say is better than Williamsburg. Look for address 900 Old Salem Road, directly off Strollway.

It is a high school but 'auditorium' is one of the most impressive and largest performance spaces in town (1900 seats). Was built to honor RJ Reynolds and one of first in south with AC. Still actively used by outside groups as well as the Arts Magnet high school
