Neighbourhoods

Eclectic, chilled out, quirky neighbourhood (just a three minute stroll down the pedestrianised hill at the end of our cul de sac) that is home to a small (& free) city farm (great for kids and adults), complete with hobbit style cafe (The Farm cafe....serving delicious locally grown, seasonal produce) children's playground, and pub next door (aptly also called 'The Farm', which has a large garden laid to grass so plenty of space for the young ones to run around in. The Farm pub also do sizeable and good value Sunday roasts :) In St Werburghs you will also find a local butcher & baker (Popti & Beast), independent veg shop selling locally grown produce, and a very well stocked organic supermarket (The Better Food Company), as well as the local Wiper & True brewery, which also serves beer on site :) If climbing is your thing then the climbing wall in St Werburghs can be found in an old church on Mina Road, and right beside this you will find one entrance to Narroways Nature Reserve..... a beautiful hidden green space that offers far reaching and fantastic views over the city. Well worth a little hike up!

Montpelier is the artists quarter in Bristol. Tranquil, peaceful and atmospheric, it is also presently home to members of the music group Massive Attack. A leisurely ten to fifteen minute stroll downhill to Montpelier will lead you to some great eateries in its' centre on Picton Street.... the award winning veggie Thai cafe, Indian curry house The Mela, and Bell's Diner and Bar Rooms ( a local favourite with great wine list). For vegans, award winning vegan burgers can be found also on Picton Street at Owee Burger - YUM! Montpelier also has a train station within a 10-15 minutes walk of the house, which connects direct to the main train station at Temple Meads for onward travel to Bath (10mins), London (1 hour 40 mins), Cardiff (40mins) to name just a few.

Stokes Croft is a beating cultural heart in the middle of Bristol - with live music venues, great drinking holes, oodles of street art and cracking places to eat too (especially worthy of note: Hamilton House for delicious seasonal freshly prepared food, Caribbean Croft for great food and an extensive rum list, or Pieminster for the best pies in town!). Stroll down to Stokes Croft either via Gloucester Road (30 mins) or via Montpelier (20 mins) - or catch the Number 70 bus from near the house and be there in 5 stops :)

Georgian splendour is to be found in Clifton... along with cafes, restaurants, and independent shops too numerous to count. You would do worse than a morning stroll around Clifton village, taking in the sights and picking up some delicious treats from the numerous delis and bakeries before wandering across the iconic suspension bridge and into Ashton Court to enjoy a picnic in one of Bristol's largest green spaces (with its own deer park!)
