This is the threshold between us and the snow. Lots of things to see and shop for. Well, maybe not lots, but plenty. Need antiques? you'll find them here. Need an extra pair of socks? you'll find them here too. Need SNOW? Go up Alta Sierra drive and you'll be there in NO TIME AT ALL!

Top notch American food and drinks, plus an AMAZING view of the magnificent Kern River. the ambiance is perfect and the cost, although in the $$$ range, is not bad.
This is a must-visit restaurant in our area.

Saturday and Sunday Swapmeet
In town we have Tom's Trading Post; where you can visit on weekends and browse Tom's shop, or any of the several vendors that make their living selling their wares there.
You never know what you'll find at that place, but, believe me, you won't regret finding it.

Nearby hike and stream stops
Within walking distance we have a little stream where you can wet your feet, and shorts, a bit. Down further we have a bit of a tough hike that is sure to knock at least a pound off you; once you've done it once or twice that is.
