City/town information
Margate is the perfect place for a day trip and a half an hour journey by train. There is a large sandy beach, the Turner Gallery and no end of groovy shops, restaurants etc. You can also try a visit to the Margate Caves or Shell Grotto. In general, Margate is more trendy than Deal and has, over the years, attracted a lot of creatives from East London.

20 The CentreMargate is the perfect place for a day trip and a half an hour journey by train. There is a large sandy beach, the Turner Gallery and no end of groovy shops, restaurants etc. You can also try a visit to the Margate Caves or Shell Grotto. In general, Margate is more trendy than Deal and has, over the years, attracted a lot of creatives from East London.

There are two castles near the house: Walmer and Deal Castle. Walmer has outstanding gardens with an arboretum, kitchen garden, kids adventure area and more. You may need to book your visiting slot. Take a picnic.

It is a half hour walk to Kingsdown from The Green House. Just walk right along the beach. This used to be a fishing village and has a lovely beach and a couple of pubs - The Zetland and The Rising Sun.
