Take a train from Edgeworthstown or Longford Train Station to Sligo Town.
From there you can take a local bus, to either Strand Hill where you can watch the surfer's ride the white swans. Or just sit and have lunch or a drink in one of the bars in Strand Hill. A amazing place to visit at anytime of year.
The bus also runs to the other beach resort of rosses point. Fares to both places are around €3.
The train from Longford stops along the route to Sligo at Dromod.... Carrick on Shannon....Boyle.... Ballymote..Collooney...... Sligo Town.
The bus to both Strand Hill & Rosses point. Departs directly opposite the train station outside the centra shop..... And departs almost hourly to both beaches.
