Walks From Porthtowan
There are some fantastic walks from Porthtowan particularly along the coastal footpath on either side of the village. Heading West the next village and beach is Portreath. This is just over 4 miles walk and takes about one and half hours. Heading East the first place you will reach is Chapel Porth. This is just over a mile and takes about half an hour. There's a cafe at Chapel Porth that is usually open in the summer until 5pm. A further 3 mile walk east from Chapel Porth is Trevaunance Cove, St Agnes where there is a beach and a pub.

A good way to visit and avoid parking horror is via the train that runs from St Erth on the A30. The branch line runs alongside St Ives Bay and the views from the train are magnificent.
