Gveleti waterfall, which can be translated as the Snake’s Waterfall, is one of the most splendid waterfalls in Georgia. It is located in Kazbegi, in the Gveleti village. It’s really very easy to get there. The traffic road from Kazbegi to the village is only 7 kilometers and the path from the Gveleti village to the waterfall- less than 1 km. There are many wonderful places for a picnic near the waterfall, from here one can see picturesque views all over the Kavkasioni. Also, in the village there is the remnant ancient castle of the feudal Georgia.

Gveleti Waterfall
Gveleti waterfall, which can be translated as the Snake’s Waterfall, is one of the most splendid waterfalls in Georgia. It is located in Kazbegi, in the Gveleti village. It’s really very easy to get there. The traffic road from Kazbegi to the village is only 7 kilometers and the path from the Gveleti village to the waterfall- less than 1 km. The Dariali Pass was historically important as the one of only two crossings of the Greater Caucasus mountain range, the other being the Derbent Pass, and has been long fortified — at least since 150 BC. Ruins of an ancient fortress can still be seen.

Truso Valley, source of Tegri (Terek) River is quite mystical and spectacular , worth hitchhiking+hiking if you happen to be in Kazbegi for more than a day. Truso valley is known for its mineral water springs, white/yellow travertines, mineral lake with bubbles, towers of middle ages.
The village of Juta is one of the highest (2200 m above the sea level) year-round habited settlements in the municipality of Kazbegi. With only 18 people, surrounded by alpine terrain, it's a great place to escape civilization.
The main attraction of this place isn't the village itself, but Zeta Camping, a hostel and campsite located on a hill 100 m above the settlement. It's a uniquely peaceful place with stunning view of the multiple peaks of the mountain Chaukhi.

The village of Juta is one of the highest (2200 m above the sea level) year-round habited settlements in the municipality of Kazbegi. With only 18 people, surrounded by alpine terrain, it's a great place to escape civilization.
