You can walk to the boardwalk in about 30 mins, or bike 🚲 there as they have bike vending stations along the broadwalk!

FTLauderdale - (miami sister city) has a strip of shops, nightlife, and restaurants on las olas Blvd. Try to take a boat tour cruise in Venice of America as FTLauderdale is the yacht capital! There is also a water taxi that has a stop right across the Sian in the doubletree that you can take directly from Hollywood intracoastal and switch to the FTL line to explore further!

Not recommending this hotel, but checkout Hollywood downtown is also close by with more of shops and restaurants.

The closest grocery to us store is Walmart right across the intracoastal water, it's less than 1/2 mile but you have to walk over the intracoastal bridge.. which can be annoying with a lot of groceries.
