Didier's is across the street from Whitworth University and well known for their delicious hometown hamburgers and gourmet sandwiches. One of our favorite things to do is enjoy frozen yogurt heaped with toppings on their beautiful, and newly renovated outdoor patio.

Best coffee shop in north Spokane. A favorite for Whitworth University students this place has amazing breakfast sandwiches. Make sure to get it with "the works". Our daughter Mira is also the best barista there! They also serve tea from our tea company, Winterwoods Tea Company.

Pretty park in one of Spokane's most desirable neighborhoods. Sometimes they have summer symphony concerts and other events. Splash pad for kids in summer and basketball courts. The Little Garden Cafe across the street is a great place as well.

Gorgeous 90 acre park designed by the same park designer who created NYC's Central Park. Check out the formal European style Duncan Garden, the tranquil Japanese garden, the rose garden, lilac garden and my personal favorite the perennial garden. The little cafe in the middle of the park near the lake has food, coffee and ice cream in the summer months. One of my favorite things to do is also wander the neighborhoods around the park as the historic homes here are incredible!

Check out the formal European style Duncan Garden, the tranquil Japanese garden, the rose garden, lilac garden and my personal favorite the perennial garden. The little cafe in the middle of the park near the lake has food, coffee and ice cream in the summer months. One of my favorite things to do is also wander the neighborhoods around the park as the historic homes here are incredible!

The largest theme park in the West, Silverwood is just an hour's drive from North Spokane. Half water park and half rollercoasters and rides, plan to make a full day and evening of it. It has a very quaint, old fashioned feel which really makes it charming for all ages.

Local Hikes and Outdoor Areas
One of the best hiking and biking places in Spokane. From parking lot suspension bridge takes you over river to hiking trails that line the river. There is also the paved Centennial Trail nearby for bikers. You'll need a Discovery Pass to park here. Bring cash or check to pay at parking lot or pick up a pass at stores like nearby Fred Meyers.

There is also the paved Centennial Trail nearby for bikers. You'll need a Discovery Pass to park here. Bring cash or check to pay at parking lot or pick up a pass at stores like nearby Fred Meyers.

Check out the All Trails app for all the hiking options from here or simply do the shorter 1-2 mile hike down to the river, across meadow and back.
