Gonubie has three surf breaks within easy walking distance of Waterston Cottage and more further afield if you are a little more adventurous and mobile. (Yellow Sands or Nahhoon) Gonubie Point is a steep short right hander with a fast ride. There is a beach break in the river mouth that generally breaks right. Gonubie reef is a mellow lefthander that can handle some sides.
