Bergies is local and amazing. A small local roaster and cafe that holds its own and has a loyal and friendly fanbase. A tiny little house sitting proud under the massive new brick buildings popping up around the bustling Downtown Gilbert drag is a good symbol of Gilbert's Roots and constant appeal. We grab some Peru and Espresso whole beans and a couple hot cups of coffee every other week or so. Look across the street and debate over if the line at Snooze is worth the chilaquiles (it is) and enjoy the garden for a while.

The QC Olive Mill is a family favorite spot in Queen Creek, about 15 minutes away. It's a family owned spot of land (farm? orchard? I don't know...)with over 7,000 trees growing 16 varieties of olives. Take a daily tour and learn all about olive oil, our local farmers and what to look for in olive oil, get tastings, and shop the marketplace after for a bottle or two. You can also grab lunch here, or... you'll be just down the road from The Pork Shop, a great local butcher shop. Lunch time :D

Not a standard bar per se, but a wine bar right in the heart of downtown Gilbert. Come early if you can, and enjoy the patio through May for great weather and people watching! Friendly staff and comfy patio seating, great for groups.

The Natural Bridge and surrounding trails are SO beautiful, you'll swear you were in Belize. Ok maybe not Belize, but at a 2 hour drive from Gilbert you will be floored with the climate change and natural beauty of the Tonto Forest. There's a small narrow (steep!) trail that walks you past a little waterfall dripping down moss covered rocky cliffs, it's truely unique for AZ. The natural bridge trail is a great place to chill at the bottom and take pictures of the water slowly raining down. Once there, your on your way to exploring the dozens of trails and scenic highways around the Mogollon Rim. Pine trees, cool air, steep and gorgeous rim views; Arizona natives love it.
