Food Scene
Wonderful little coffee shop where they roast their own coffee. Their food revolves around simpler foods i.e. sandwiches etc, but they're superb. Only trouble is finding a spot to sit as space is limited. It's improved during the summer when there's additional space in the garden.

Stokes roast their own coffee beans and is available all over Lincolnshire. This is a relatively new but welcome cafe on the Lincoln coffee shop scene. The food is consistently good (try the carrot cake!) and it's ina really nice part of town.

A trendy/hipster coffee shop with splendid lunch time food offerings. You'll need to keep your eye out for it, as it's easy to miss from School Lane. The coffee is great here.

Can often be overlooked as you have to come of the main Lincoln strip to get to it. It's quirky access makes it all the more rewarding a find. The food and cake are delicious.

Sightseeing
A spectacular building and arguably one of the most impressive cathedrals in Europe. How it oversees the whole of the city and can be seen from miles away especially at night when it is lit. I'd recommend the roof tour, which is available from Spring until Autumn. You must be quick to book tickets as they're limited and regularly sell out.

Minster YardA spectacular building and arguably one of the most impressive cathedrals in Europe. The Collection is an under visited gem in Lincoln and comprises of an archeology museum and the Usher Gallery. The museum is interesting and entertaining and aside from special exhibitions, it's free! What's not to like!?

The Usher Gallery is also delightful and in my view is perfectly scaled for a art gallery (It's easy to hit saturation point in larger galleries in my opinion) and makes for an ideal visit on a rainy (or sunny) day.

The Collection
1 Danes TerraceThe Collection is an under visited gem in Lincoln and comprises of an archeology museum and the Usher Gallery. The museum is interesting and entertaining and aside from special exhibitions, it's free! What's not to like!?

In fairness, and rather emabrresingly I have still not visited the Castle since it's refurb/relaunch for which I've heard excellent things from guests who have made the effort to go and explore.

Just outside of the centre of Lincoln is the picturesque Lincoln aboretum. If you would like to escape the hustle and bustle and a refuge from traffic noise, this is an easily reachable escape.
