Located one street down from the flat, the Gowlett is my local. Their rotating selection of beers is always great and they bake great pizzas in house, which will make you want to go back for more. There are DJs spinning records on Fridays and Saturdays and this is my fav place to watch a match too.

The Montpellier is a cool pub on Chumert Road, with a nice outdoor space to enjoy a beer on a sunny day (yes, these do exist in London too). Their rotating tap of craft ales is always interesting, the food deserves attention too. It has simple pub menu but they work with local suppliers and their dishes are creative and well executed.
They run an excellent cinema club in the backroom with screenings at 6.30PM and 8.30PM. Very good DJs spinning records every Saturday.
The friendly staff and customer base make this have a very cheers feel to it.

43 Choumert RdThe Montpellier is a cool pub on Chumert Road, with a nice outdoor space to enjoy a beer on a sunny day (yes, these do exist in London too). Their rotating tap of craft ales is always interesting, the food deserves attention too. It has simple pub menu but they work with local suppliers and their dishes are creative and well executed.

If you find yourself here during the summery months, the bar above a massive car park, going by the name of Frank's Campari Bar, cannot be missed for its views of London and oh yes, the Campari menu.

My good friend Lily runs Viva, a small and very cosy coffeeshop 5 minutes walk from my flat. Cafe Viva offers great coffee supplied by local small batch roasters Volcano Coffee Works, a simple menu of home-made and locally sourced food and a friendly atmosphere.
The breakfast items here are simple and unpretentious (toasties, bacon baps, granola, etc) but you can tell there is an eye for quality and details.

OMG - if you love Indian food, particularly from the Goa region, then you should call ahead and see if you can get in! Amazing menu, the staff couldn't be more helpful and lovely. Worth it.

The Begging Bowl offers excellent Thai cuisine in Peckham. You can't book tables here, and the queue can be off putting, but put your name down and go to The Montpelier for a drink while you wait. All plates are meant for sharing and full of flavour.

Attached to a lovely art gallery, No. 67 has some of the best brunch foods in the area. Great coffee as well. Try to eat in the front room as the back one echoes when fully sat.

My very good friends Lisa Anderson has been running this coffeshop since 2010, when Peckham was just starting to be cool. She has huge experience and a genuine love for food which makes this place very special.

What can I say? This is the true colours of Peckham. Just walking around makes you feel like you're in another country. It's called Little Nigeria, in Nigeria, for a reason.

Peckham Rye Park is within the Common, and feels like an isolate paradise of winding creeks, a serene Japanese and rose garden as well as a pond full of geese and ducks. Get lost in it.
