“Apart from the most famous places in the Old town, which include the Castle square with the Royal castle and Sigismund's column, St. John's Cathedral, the old town square and the new town market with the communion Church (Gameren's Tylman project), there are also a few less popular but very charming corners. It is m.in.: street Kanonia, where the narrow old town Kamenetz and bell 1646; Berezov str (running in the back feathers Barssa) - from the intersection with customs street offers beautiful views of the Vistula river; the picturesque street of stone steps, and surrounded by standing on the slope to the Church Ghost of the virgin Mary in a New city. There are nine churches in the Old town! Interesting sites are: the monument Jana kilinskiego street (street Baking) - the leaders of the insurekcji since 1794, repair and rajcy city and touching the statue of the Little Insurgent (Barbican), in memory of the children who took part in the Warsaw uprising.”

Designed by Finnish architect Rainer Mahlamäki, the modern glass, copper and concrete building houses a 43,000 sq ft permanent exhibition space with multimedia displays including reconstructed parts of historical Jewish synagogues, an interactive 3D model of Kracow and its Jewish neighbourhood of Kazimierz and a Holocaust gallery. There is also a kosher restaurant and café on-site.”

Palace
“The palace at the southern end of the Royal Route came through the Second World War without a scratch. So Wilanów Palace is a rare glimpse of the majesty of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth before Poland was annexed by Prussia and Russia in the late-18th century. This palace was intended as a summer escape for King Jan III Sobieski towards the end of the 17th century, and has all the hallmarks of Baroque palace architecture, including a parterre with two terraces boasting topiaries, broderie and statues symbolising love. The exterior is laden with medallions, busts, statues and other Baroque ornamentation, while interior decor abounds with stuccowork, striking trompe-l’œil frescoes and chinoiserie. High points are the sumptuous White Hall, traced by mirrors, the King’s Library, the King’s Bedroom and the North Gallery, flanked by statues and with magnificent ceiling frescoes.”
