“Rainbow Bridge / レインボーブリッジ Opened to traffic in 1993, the bridge over the Port of Tokyo is called the Rainbow Bridge and looks like rainbow as the name suggests. The 1.7 kilometers promenade walk connecting Shibaura Wharf and Odaiba waterfront area can be walked on. It takes about half an hour to cross the whole bridge. The two routes, north route and south route, provide different sceneries, but the south route is recommended if you only plan to walk one way. The vision from the bridge is too beautiful to miss especially during the night illumination as the illumination color changes depending on events and even on days and hours for viewers to enjoy the outstanding time of the day.”

“Trees are the big attraction at this park, and for good reason: it started life as the Meguro Experimental Nursery in 1900 (later the Forestry Research Station) before becoming a public park in the late ’80s. The park’s handsome crop of trees includes towering zelkovas, poplars and camphors, as well as some unusual and foreign species. It also attracts a number of wild birds so ornithologists can put their binoculars to good use, and if you have the kids in tow there are several playgrounds for them to swing about on, as well as a splashing pond to cool off in during the summer months. Just beware the mosquitos…”

“The Meguro River (目黒川 Meguro-gawa) is a river which flows through Tokyo, Japan. Its tributaries include the Kitazawa River and the Karasuyama River. The river flows into Tokyo Bay near the Tennōzu Isle Station. The river is 7.82km in length and passes through Setagaya, Meguro and Shinagawa wards. The river banks are extensively landscaped and act as an urban green space for communities along its length. Close to the source of the river in Setagaya, the river is divided vertically between an large underground storm drain and surface level landscaped ornamental stream. At Ōhashi Junction where the river passes under the Route 246 and the Tōmei Expressway, the river re-emerges as a broader, surface level water channel. The river is a popular venue for cherry blossom viewing in the spring.”

“Very traditional temple, which has been visited by many of locals for long. And it's said the name of "Meguro", the name of the district, is actually from this temple. Obon in August and new years have hundreds of visitors, so if being here in the certain period, will see the very cultural scene. Every 28th of the month, there's "Ennichi" festival (matsuri) taken place, and then lots of street food stores open all around the temple.”

Lodging
“It's Hilton Hotel in Odaiba.Just across the Rainbow Bridge from Shinbashi, this Odaiba hotel gives off the ambience of a resort. Placed on the waterfront, the balconies give the sense of being on a boat at full sail (many of which can actually be seen on the water). The location also affords views of Tokyo Bay and Rainbow Bridge, as well as private shuttle buses to Tokyo Disney Resort. Re-opened by the Hilton group in autumn 2015, the hotel has had a full makeover, raising standards across the board both in the guest rooms and the public areas.”

Discount Store
“Donki is a discount shop, but not like any other discount shops. They have almost everything you need, from a sewing needle to local snacks to wagyu slice for your dinner. They made great stride and to match this shop to this neighborhood, a thumb up for the teams. Merely walking in the shop is quite entertaining, you will find. ”
