“Blue Horse is home to the acclaimed folk art animal sculptures of Paul Burke and the uniquely elegant raku vases and lamps of Anna Gustafson. Natural light spills into the spacious gallery, falling on paintings, furniture and other works by both artists. Visitors can linger over civilized espressos amidst outdoor sculptures in the Coffee Garden at the edge of an untamed forest. Hours:January-February: by appointment March - December : Sunday-Friday 10- 5 ”

“The Cowichan Maritime Centre is an active community-based maritime museum and the home of the Cowichan Wooden Boat Society which preserves, exhibits and demonstrates the Maritime heritage and culture of wooden boats, especially as experienced on Canada’s West Coast. The Society was originally conceived in the 1970s as a wooden boat-building centre but has expanded its role to become a maritime centre, a museum and a wooden boat workshop. We are home to the Cowichan Valley Dragon Divas, a group of cancer survivors who train and race their Dragon Boats right in Cowichan Bay.”

“If you have a love for animals conservation and trophy hunting this is the place for you! Self guided tour with a set of headphones and an iPad lead you around the old Maple Bay school. Here you will find art work, photos and animals from all around the world collected by the museums designer. If you were like myself and though trophy hunting was just plain wrong this may give you a different perspective as it did for my family.”
