“The local music scene is Penang is a thriving industry. The island plays host to several music festivals throughout the year including the Penang Island Jazz Festival, Malaysia’s second largest performing arts event held in August, and the Penang World Music Festival taking place between March and April. However, visitors looking for all year round live entertainment will not be disappointed as several island bars host live acts regularly. Our top choice is the iconic Hard Rock Café along Jalan Batu Ferringhi, where live local performers rule the roost, but international artists make stage appearances from time to time. ”

“A sure relaxing place to just take an early morning stroll or evening exercise. Meet the locals and join them for Tai-Chi, vocal practice, hiking and just walk round and round...There is a bamboo park, an amazon lily pond, and lots of local floral and fauna. After a good morning stroll, as you exit the park and opposite the Indian temple, drop by BeeBee for a healthy capati or LSY Organic for a healthy breakfast. There are also two fruit stalls that make Pure fresh fruits smoothie. For a hearty breakfast, there is Big Ben Western and Garden Paradis next to it.”

“Penang is Malaysia’s top destination after Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital city. Penang is famous for its beaches, food and heritage culture. George Town, Penang’s capital was once like a forbidden or “no go” area – only for the brave and curious. It was a sorry sight of old crumbling buildings. The street art in Penang is about so much more than an interactive backdrop for your Instagram photos, the murals illustrate the story of George Town. Sculptures explain how roads got their names, signs describe the heritage of the area and large-scale portraits represent George Town businesses, past and present.”
