“Ottawa's Tulip Festival runs here from May 11-21st. The tulips are a yearly gift from the royal Dutch family after a birthing favour from forever ago. They also have other fun things set up, like food trucks, live art and music. ”

“To the north is a rich maple forest and over 2.5 km of hiking and cycling trails. A true greenbelt in the middle of town, the park is in close proximity to the Beechwood Cemetery and serves as a refuge to many species of birds and small woodland animals. There are also picnic tables, playground equipment for children, games for the elderly, flower beds and park benches. ”

“Just a thirty minute drive. "The Canadian Tulip Festival was established to celebrate the historic Royal gift of tulips from the Dutch to Canadians immediately following the Second World War as a symbol of international friendship. The Festival preserves the memorable role of the Canadian troops in the liberation of the Netherlands and Europe, as well as commemorates the birth of Dutch Princess Margriet in Ottawa during World War II—the only royal personage ever born in Canada." “No elevation but an excellent trail for a casual hike or mountain bike ride. The winding trails could easily take all day if you walk all of them. A few nice outlooks or places to stop and take in the view. Bring bug spray in the summer. ”
