“The most fascinating itinerary in the subsoil of Naples Napoli Sotterranea is a must in Naples. A substratum rich in history and linked to the rediscovery of a rare, if not unique, heritage. Works of great civil engineering, left long abandoned and today recovered to new life thanks to the wise work of Underground Naples. Indescribable beauties and suggestive places to be discovered. Taking part in the excursion means making a journey through history over 2400 years, from the Greek to the modern era, 40 meters deep between tunnels and cisterns. During the excursion, in addition to admiring the remains of the ancient Greek-Roman aqueduct and the anti-aircraft shelters of the Second World War, we will visit the War Museum, the Orti Ipogei (www.ortipogei.it), the Seismic Station "Arianna" and much more. Finally, it will be possible to visit for free the remains of the ancient Greek-Roman Theater, accessible from a private property.”

“Pompeii (/pɒmˈpeɪi/) was an ancient Roman city near modern Naples in the Campania region of Italy, in the territory of the comune of Pompei. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area (e.g. at Boscoreale, Stabiae), was buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Volcanic ash typically buried inhabitants who did not escape the lethal effects of the earthquake and eruption. Pompeii is a UNESCO World Heritage Site status and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Italy, with approximately 2.5 million visitors every year.”

“l Castel dell'Ovo (castrum Ovi, in Latin), is the oldest castle in the city of Naples [1] and is one of the elements that stand out most in the famous panorama of the gulf. It is located between the neighborhoods of San Ferdinando and Chiaia, opposite Via Partenope. Due to various events that partly destroyed the original Norman appearance and thanks to the subsequent reconstruction work that took place during the Angevin and Aragonese periods, the architectural line of the castle changed drastically until it reached the state in which it appears today.”

“Castel sant'Elmo is a medieval castle, used as a museum, located on the Vomero hill near San Martino in Naples. It was once called Paturcium and stands in the place where, from the 10th century, there was a church dedicated to Sant'Erasmo (from which Eramo, Ermo and then Elmo).”

“The elegant 15th-century Ponte Aragonese connects Ischia Ponte to Castello Aragonese, a sprawling, magnificent castle perched high and mighty on a rocky islet. While Syracusan tyrant Gerone I built the site’s first fortress in 474 BC, the bulk of the current structure dates from the 1400s, when King Alfonso of Aragon gave the older Angevin fortress a thorough makeover, building the fortified bastions, current causeway and access ramp cut into the rock.”

“The Certosa di San Martino is a palatial area of Naples situated on the Vomero hill, next to the Sant'Elmo castle. It is by far one of the major religious monumental complexes of the city and one of the most successful examples of Baroque architecture and art together with the royal chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro, and the fulcrum of seventeenth-century Neapolitan painting. [1] It has about a hundred rooms, two churches, a courtyard, four chapels, three cloisters and hanging gardens. Chronologically it is the second Carthusian monastery in Campania, having been born nineteen years after that of San Lorenzo in Padula and forty-six years before that of San Giacomo in Capri. After the Unification of Italy it took on the title of national monument and since 1866 it has housed the National Museum of San Martino, born with the aim of telling the artistic and cultural history of the city. It is 15-20 min away from Casa Carmela which can be reached by the via Toledo or Montesanto funicular.”

“One of the most elegant Coffee Salons in the city, plenty of history, where you can meet part of the smart high society of Napoli. After an amazing coffee and a "sfogliatella" or the best "Spriz" you can make a walk along the seaside until you reach the suggesting Castel del'Ovo, in Lungomare Caracciolo. Back to the city you can easily reach Piazza dei Martiri, where you can do some shopping in Gucci or Armani. If it is not your mood, you can keep walking to Mergellina and get an amazing view from this side of Naples....”
