Colloquial Area
“Tangalooma Island Resort is only a 75-minute catamaran cruise from Brisbane. The resort is the perfect family holiday destination for guests seeking an understated yet unique adventure, educational or nature based experience - right on Brisbane’s doorstep on the incredible Moreton Island. At Tangalooma, where wild dolphins come in nightly to be hand-fed by resort guests. Another of the island’s attractions are the Tangalooma Wrecks, a dive and snorkelling site, where 17 deliberately sunk ships form an artificial reef that has become home to wobbegongs and numerous tropical fish. Catch the Micat ferry from the Port of Brisbane. Or head south to discover the wild beauty of North Stradbroke.”

Natural Feature
“Beautiful place to take a refreshing swim in this fresh water lake. Great place for kids to swim or to just float and relax for a while. The water gets warm in the summer and cool in the winter. The walk from the car park to the lake is a few hundred meters over sand tracks which get very hot under foot in summer, so make sure you have something on your feet.”

Dive Spot
“Located just north of the Tangalooma Island Resort are the Tangalooma Wrecks, a cluster of ships scuttled by the Queensland Government between 1963 and 1984 to provide safe anchorage spot for recreational boat owners on the eastern side of Moreton Bay. Coral is now starting to form in and around the wrecks, providing a haven for over 100 species of fish and sometimes even dolphins, wobbegongs and dugongs.”

Premise
“Cape Moreton Lighthouse is just one of the many must-see sights on Moreton Island. Also there is sand tobogganing in the Desert or Sandhills, walking up Mt Tempest for 360 degree views, snorkelling at the Wrecks, watching the dolphin feeding, fishing, bush walking, whale watching in season and all sorts of water sports. Most are available through the resort tours. However you can hire your won 4wd from the resort and do lots on your own. Otherwise grab a book, a cold drink and a nice shady spot on the beach and chill out.”
