“Just four kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD and spread over 16 acres, the Abbotsford Convent – with its 11 historic buildings and gardens – is Australia’s largest multi-arts precinct. The former Convent of the Good Shepherd, this ex-monastic site is now owned by the Abbotsford Convent Foundation (ACF) – a not-for-profit organisation that operates the Abbotsford Convent on behalf of the public. Today, the Convent is home to over 100 studios, two galleries, cafes, a radio station, a school, and an abundance of green open space. Each year the Convent welcomes a diverse range of art projects, rehearsals, workshops, exhibitions, markets, events and festivals.”

“With its imposing red-rust structure designed by Wood Marsh, ACCA is one of the most recognisable buildings in Melbourne. Founded in 1983, and transferring to its current purpose-built premises in Southbank in 2002, the Centre is one of Australia's leading public institutions for contemporary art. The geometrically-aligned ediface houses a number of exhibitions at any one time as well as serving as a hub for lectures, symposiums, performances, live music and educational programs. Previous exhibiting artists include Barbara Kruger, Mikala Dwyer, eX de Medici and Bill Henson. The rotating schedule of exhibitions means that every time you come back to the gallery there's always something different to enjoy.”
