“Praça do Comércio (Commerce Square) used to be the location of the royal palace, until it was destroyed in 1755 by the Great Earthquake. The royal family moved to another residence in the district of Belem, and the new arcaded buildings became the entry port of the city. Its north side hosts a triumphal arch and one of the city's legendary cafes, Café Martinho da Arcada, a favourite for writers Fernando Pessoa, Almeida Garrett and Eça de Queiroz. The centre of the square boasts the statue of King José I, which is 14 meters high”

“There are lots of different restaurants available, so everyone can enjoy from it. Find a table and then each one goes and gets the food they want. A bit hard too coordinate when everyone's food will arrive so you will probably each eat at different times but worth a visit. It is also great for drinks and there is a club there as well called Rive Rouge. ”

“Warning - it's quite neglected. Yet, precisely for that, you can feel as visiting the Sleeping Beauty's castle backyard. Every plant is a bit mysterious and nostalgic. You'll find charming spots like the butterfly-house or the bamboos alee. The botanical garden's staff is very friendly. You can read, take photos at your ease, listen to your favorite song, practice Tai-Chi, eat your snack. No worries.”

“Special place to enjoy a unique view over the city of Lisbon. This viewpoint is famous thanks to its wonderful view, from which you can see the old neighborhoods such as Mouraria and Alfama, Baixa Pombalina, São Jorge’s Castle and also the Tejo River. Situated on St. Andrew's Hill, one of the seven hills of the city, it offers the perfect ambience to relax under the pine trees and spend several hours enjoying the city’s charm. It contains a strategically placed cafe to see the sunset over the Tejo River and the riverside zone.”
