“Petronas Twin Towers in KLCC were the tallest buildings in the world from 1 January 1998 to 31 December 2004. Currently, it still holds the record for the tallest twin buildings in the world. The 88-storey towers were built using mostly reinforced concrete, with steel-and-glass facades to resemble Islamic motifs which were intended to reflect the official and majority religion of Malaysia. KLCC attractions are plentiful as this is where several of Kuala Lumpur’s significant and prominent landmarks are found. Plus, the area can be explored on foot or public transportation. With a soaring height of 452 metres, the crown jewel of KL is undoubtedly the architectural masterpiece that is the Petronas Twin Towers. Ideal for travelling families, there are plenty of kid-friendly attractions such as KLCC Park (which houses a public swimming pool for kids, water fountains, cascades and reflecting pools), the interactive science discovery centre, Petrosains, Malaysia’s first dedicated Classical music concert hall, and Aquaria KLCC.”

“FRIM is the first and most venerable research institute in Malaysia focusing on forestry science, to which its spacious grounds and rainforest acreage are dedicated. Sited adjacent to Bukit Lagong Forest Reserve, it is also a Malaysian Natural Heritage Site, as well as on the Tentative List of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Although actually devoted to research, FRIM opened much of its grounds for public access and use, allowing activities as varied as hiking and mountain biking, to birdwatching and camping, to wedding photography. The best way to get to FRIM is by car. Note that it isn’t a particularly easy place to hail a return taxi, even if it is easy to get one to go there from the city centre. So if you don’t have your own car, it might be best to get a taxi to wait, or try and GrabCar it. ”

“Zouk Kuala Lumpur, set along Jalan Tun Razak, encompasses six dynamically different themed rooms (namely Aristo & Rooftop Garden, Barsonic, Main Room, Phuture, Terrace Bar and Velvet Underground), and with frequent appearances from international heavyweights such as Above & Beyond and DJ Tiesto, it’s no wonder that Zouk is still a favourite among KL-lites even after nine years of existence. Tuesdays are ‘Ghetto Heaven’ nights featuring selections of only the best hip hop and R&B grooves, and Wednesdays are Mambo Jambo parties, taking you back to the 80s with hits from the era, so strut your best stuff and dance the night away!”
