“Thamel is a commercial neighbourhood located in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Thamel has been the centre of the tourist industry in Kathmandu for over four decades, starting from the hippie days when many artists came to Nepal and spent weeks in Thamel. It is the hottest-spot for tourism inside the Kathmandu valley. Thamel is known by its narrow alleys crowded with various shops and vendors. Commonly sold goods include food, fresh vegetables/fruits, pastries, trekking gear, walking gear, music, DVDs, woollen items and clothes, handicrafts, souvenirs. ”

음식
“Honacha is the real Bara place! It’s been favored by the locals for 50 years and as such delivers proper Newari Food: "bara and egg barra" (lentils crepes), "alu" (potatoes), "kerao" (chickpeas), “ sekuwa” (cured meat)... Watch out, there’s no menu so just order a mix: ‘’Ali ali sabaï dinus” ! Drink home-made Chhyang or Rakshi to go with (local rice alcohol). The place is located just behind Krishna temple on Durbar Square. It’s a dark ground floor - part of the experience - or a small terrace on the 1st floor with a view on Durbar Square – Opened only during day time.”

“The Garden of Dreams, a neo classical historical garden, is situated in the midst of Kathmandu city, Nepal. The Garden's design has much in common with formal European gardens: paved perimeter paths, punctuated by pavilions, trellises, and various planting areas, surrounded by a sunken flower garden with a large pond at its center. It is an architectural landscape that encourages the visitor to stroll around and discover the Garden's treasures from many different vantage points.”

“Bodnath est la plus grande stupa bouddhiste du Népal et donc sans doute du monde. Allez y à l'aube, avant tous les touristes et en mème temps que tous les pèlerins, vous y trouverez un lieu magique. Comme récompense, vous pourrez ensuite vous offrir un petit déjeuner sur les des cafés en toit terrasse qui entourent la stupa et regarder le quartier prendre vie vu d'en haut.”
