“The Botanical Gardens are so well laid out and planted it makes you want to take a shovel to your garden. You can walk there from our home by walking around Beebe Lake, and then walk back around the other side of the lake. Any time of year, there will be interesting colors, plants, and walks to be had. ”

“Grab lunch at the Ithaca Bakery in Collegetown, then head down the Cascadilla Gorge Trail and eat you lunch under a waterfall. It's hard to believe you can leave Cornell and step into a completely different world so quickly. If you hike down you can treat yourself to the Argos Inn for a drink or meal downtown then hike back up Cascadilla Park Road - one of the curviest roads in the country, and packed with adorable homes like it's hobbit hill. ”

“You can walk down the hill from the house to this park. Once at the bottom of the hill turn left and cross the road. You will also be right on the waterfront trail to walk around the park. ”

“This trail is relatively low impact, close to everything, and STUNNINGLY beautiful. Multiple tiers of waterfalls are visible from a beautifully constructed stonework walking trail. I 100% recommend! ”

“An easy walk from the apartment to the Gorge trail. The trail takes you up (a fair amount of well-crafted stairs) to Cornell campus. For many Ithacans, this is their commute to work/school.”

“One of the best places to go with kids, this free roaming garden includes an "anarchy zone" with old tires and ropes and wood for kids build/play with as they wish, to a peace garden remembering children we've lost, to a community garden (with chickens!), to sand pits, willow branch houses, boardwalks... it's incredible. Take a picnic or BBQ!”

“This place boasts one of the largest inland marinas in NY State. Probably because Cayuga Lake is the 3rd largest inland lake in NY, behind just Oneida (1) and Seneca (2).”

“The Six Mile Creek Gorge is a diverse ecological area consisting of streams, gorges, waterfalls, marshland, forest, and meadows. The natural area offers level, creekside walks in the Mulholland Wildflower Preserve on the north side of Six Mile Creek. Steep cliffside trails can be found on either side of the creek. This area contains the City of Ithaca's reservoirs and is also designated as a unique natural area. The area has many miles of unimproved and minimally maintained trails on both sides of the gorge.”

“In the middle of downtown and bordered by "the God Quad" of various churches, DeWitt Park is the original public square of Ithaca and now houses war memorials. This area of town has many of the older and architecturally interesting buildings. The Farmer's Market is held here on Tuesdays.”
