“Suomenlinna fortification used to be the military stronghold to protect Helsinki and Finland from all threats imaginable as the Gibraltar of the North. In the end, it didn't go quite so, but the history is definitely interesting and the place a popular visit for the sights and views for tourists and locals alike. It is spectacular to see the big passenger boats pass the narrow channel just a few meters from fortifications. You can reach Suomenlinna by a connection ferry departing from Kauppatori, near Allas Sea Pool. ”
“The old building is under construction but they have oppened a smiliar to Hakaniemi square, behind the old building. It is something to visit for. You can have lunch, cup of coffee and do you shopping (fresh meat, vegetable etc.)”
“A red log cottage located by the sea. This is a must visit. They have open fire outside, where you can sit by and grill a sausage on a stick. You can also take a seat inside and enjoy your cinnamon-bun with a cup of coffee. Romantic atmosphere”
“If you don't get a laugh anywhere else, go to the amusement park. The roller coaster is pretty old and wooden, and we just love it! The place has also a large aquarium and on summer time shows at the outdoor stage. Usually crowded at nice weather.”
“Small and very hipster. The vegetarian or vegan döner (seitan) is preeetty good. Take the plate, who cares about the bun? I recommend trying the apple chili sauce. Also meat option! But I wouldn't know about the taste. http://donerharju.fi/”
