“www.florabama.com (5 minutes/3.8 miles East). One of the last great American roadhouses on the Alabama/Florida state line. Home of the Interstate Mullet Toss, International Songwriters’ Festival and the Gulf Coast’s greatest beach party. Four bandstands. Live music daily. Great burgers and oysters. A must see...rebuilt in the same tacky style before Hurricane Ivan destroyed it in 2004. Be sure to enjoy a delicious Bushwhacker! Check out their calendar of events.”
“Kids of all ages that love planes and aviation should visit the museum for a day. What began as one man’s vision to educate young aviators and endow them with a deeper appreciation of their heritage has evolved over the years into a steadily growing and expanding institution of national significance and of major economic importance to Pensacola. The Museum is now considered the leading tourist attraction between Orlando and New Orleans and one of the top ten attractions in Florida, making Pensacola an ever more popular destination for out-of-town visitors. Through dynamic exhibits, educational initiatives, publications and research, the Museum has far surpassed the concept that fostered it. The National Naval Aviation Museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., year-round, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s days.”
“Huge shopping mall 21 minutes away without traffic. Has a very nice, upscale vibe but includes discount shops and stores. Also has a variety of restaurants where you can sit, relax and enjoy great food. ”
“We have visited here two times. It is walking distance or 3 minute ride down the road on Front Beach (near the high rise). Go swim with the dolphins, they have a dolphin experience its well worth the money. SO FUN. They also have a dolphin show as well, a gift store and all kinds of exhibits with fish, turtles, sharks etc. A nice place to visit with free parking”
“Most restaurants don't become a tradition, but McGuire's isn't most restaurants. A Pensacola tradition for years, McGuire's is the place we take and send out of towner's to have a fun eating experience. Wall to wall (almost to the floor in some spots!) McGuire's is covered in $1 bills left by both visitors and locals. At last count there was over $2 million! It's also full of antiques and memorabilia of our beloved Blue Angels. The food rounds it all out with delicious Irish and American options- try the boxty's! They even have an .18 cent bean soup that's so yummy! Live music some nights and they're open late for your late night cravings.”
