숙소
Stunning and spacious 2 bedroom apartment sporting king sized beds in both bedrooms, plus a full sized bed in 'what used to be' a walk through closet or a pull back comfortable couch and curtain to close it off. Just 1 mile from Jackson Gore or 2 miles from the base lodge of Okemo Mountain--coming across the mountain road, you beat the traffic on either side of the mountain. Perfect for a ski or summer getaway. We provide two pairs of snow shoes for you and a map of the property for you to scoot around 100 acres. Many trails for hiking in the summer plus a propane grill and fire pit. Year round hot tub is in entry way of barn—on first floor, not in the living space but under cover. There is air conditioning in every room except the small room in between the two large bedrooms.

This renovated 1800 sq ft barn loft has two king sized beds in two spacious bedrooms--all air conditioners run off of our grid tied solar, kitchen with stainless steel large fridge and gas stove, stocked with pots, pans, coffee pot, soda stream, toaster, blender/food processor, baking dishes and dishes for 6, ice maker in the freezer, dishwasher, dining table that seats 6 or with leaves in the coat closet for seating up to 10--extra stools in dining room, bathroom with a claw foot tub/shower, front load washer/dryer, living room with tv, high speed internet and sitting room. Large ceiling fans are in the kitchen and living room. The heat pump provides the heat or the air conditioning for the open space with thermostat you can adjust above the bench in the entryway. It is located 2 miles from Ludlow to enjoy bars/restaurants, nice shops, realtors and grocery stores.

This unit is Solar Powered! Don't worry, we are grid tied so if we don't make enough power, you are still living in ease and comfort.

Check in/out might be able to be flexible but please confirm your desires ahead of time so that I can schedule accordingly. If there is another guest checking in the day you depart then checks outs are at noon and guests arriving plan on a 3:30/4pm check in. If I can be flexible, I will. Please NO Saturday Check in/out. If you use instant book to start or end your stay on a Saturday, I will ask you to edit your dates. Thanks for working with me on this detail, I appreciate it!

While I welcome pets in the apartment, please note that the pet fee is NOT included in the normal cleaning fee. Please notify me in advance and describe your pets for me to provide to you the cost of the pet fee. If you do not inform me that you are bringing pets in advance, I will request a pet fee through Airbnb.......it is quite easy for us to know they were there with extra hair and paw prints on the floor, which is why we charge the extra fee! The fee ranges from $25 - $40 per stay depending upon their size/shedding.

Airbnb lists the lowest price available for the apartment so note that weekend rates or more desired seasons rates are higher. You will see your price when you request to book. I use Smart Pricing through Airbnb which means the nightly rates can fluctuate considerably.

Guests have access to the entire apartment and hiking/snow shoeing 100 acres of lovely VT private trails and meadows. Map of the property in the unit.

If you are interested in moving to Vermont, we now have four lots for sale on the property just beyond the solar field. All permitted for septic and well locations and all are three acre parcels!

I allow guests to be extremely independent, but I am a phone call or a text away for addressing any issue or question that may arise.

The barn is located on a gravel road with neighbors that are not close. No one will see you enjoying a lovely meal on the picnic table or cocktails around the fire pit. A leisurely mile walk to the gorgeous Buttermilk Falls makes this location a summer gem!

Parties or events are not allowed.

Car is the way to go here in VT!

If you are looking for a larger rental for your group, check out our sister property Good Commons. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2094210?guests=16&s=Os6n2fDx At Good Commons, we also host yoga retreats with some of the top instructors on the east coast. Look us up for a visit in any capacity!

게스트 이용 가능 공간/시설
Guests access the entry way to the barn, the entire apartment, the front of the barn for throwing around a ball with a pet, the side of the barn where the lawn furniture is located and hiking around 100 acres.

기타 주의사항
The barn is 186 feet long and the center part of the inside of the barn is used for restoration car storage. Occasionally, you will hear a car come in or out through the opposite end of the barn. The maintenance man Gary will also be by to mow or make small repairs.

위치

러들로(Ludlow), 버몬트, 미국

Buttermilk Falls right around the corner, go back to Buttermilk Falls road and take a right. The first sign for the forest is the lowest fall. Once you climb down to the lowest fall there, you will see a trail up to the 2nd fall. If you go to the end of the road where the abandoned bridge is, you will see the entrance to the top fall, the third fall, down on your right.

--Okemo Mountain Resort is one mile away to the Jackson Gore side and 2 Mike's to the base lodge with outdoor year round recreation including skiing and riding, The Adventure Zone, zip lining, mountain biking and disk golf. Enjoy the FREE Friday night concerts in the warm months! To get to Jackson Gore, go to Buttermilk Falls road and take a left. Drive to Route 103 and take a left and an immediate right onto Mountain Road and another immediate right into the entrance.

--Boy Scout Camp at Echo Lake. Go north on Route 100 and turn right at the Echo Lake Inn. Drive about 1 mile and take a left onto Scout Camp Road. The entrance is about a half mile down the road on your left for swimming, canoeing, kayaking and peddle boats. $4 admission fee.

--There is a great hike up the back of Okemo to the fire tower. It is a
good distance so allow a couple hours for this. Take Route 103 towards
Rutland and take a left at Wright Construction. Just past the railroad
tracks turn left and you will drive into a parking lot for the trail head.
It goes all the way up and down, only one path. At the top is the fire
tower. If you climb up the tower, you will see a 360 view of the area.
Really great!

--White Rocks National Forest--take Route 103 for about 6/7 miles to Route 140 and take a left. Drive 4/5 miles on Route 140 you will see signs on your left for White Rocks National Forest. Turn left at the White Rocks sign and drive about one mile up to a parking area.....road is tight if you meet an oncoming car. As you are driving into the parking area, I recommend the trailhead to your right to the ice beds. The temperature drops so much when you get to them it is kind of a neat thing in nature. There are two great vistas along the way--one right at the top of the switchbacks slightly in front of you to your left. Then as you walk along the ridge line, look for the second one on your left as well. This is a tricky hike. You really have to follow the blue dots on the trees, because the trail is not always easy to see.

--If you are looking for local groceries, visit W.A.A.W.W.E--We Are All
What We Eat located a the corner of Route 103 and Route 10. It is not cheap but they have pasteurized but not homogenized milk, local eggs, meat, and tons of other local goodies. Her dairy farm is not too much further along Route 103 towards Chester on your right and there is a little spot there to buy completely raw milk if you choose and take a quick gander at the cows.

--Deer Leap Overlook—head towards Buttermilk Falls Road and take a left. Go to Route 103 and take a left and drive 15 miles till you dead end on Route 4. Take a left at Route 4 and drive about 8 miles. Just past the town of Killington, you will go up a very steep hill and at the top of the hill you will see the Inn at Long Trail on your right and a huge parking lot on your left. There are many trails (in and out) from the parking lot on your left. I recommend crossing the road back to the Inn side and going up the trail head at the far right corner of the parking lot as you are looking at the Inn to Deer Leap Overlook. It takes maybe 30/40 min to reach the summit, which is a wonderful view of Killington Mountain!

--Oldest working cheese factory in the nation--Crowley Cheese. Go north on 103 towards Rutland about 2.5 miles and turn left onto Healdeville Road. Drive another 2/3 miles and you will see Crowley on your left.

--2nd oldest cheese factory in the nation is Plymouth Artisan Cheese at the Calvin Coolidge Estate. It is great to walk through the main building hosting the museum and all the out buildings. Go in the morning to try to catch cheese making. There is a great interactive part of the museum that was designed by my friend Paul. You can ask Coolidge questions and he answers them:)

--Green Mountain Sugar House--go North on Route 100 about 2 miles from Route 103 and you will see this on your right. They have great maple creme's....maple soft serve ice cream and lots of VT style gifts and maple candies made on site.

--Weston Playhouse--check out their season. They may have something appropriate for kids on their main stage or second stage space. The talent comes up from NYC to enjoy a portion of the summer in gorgeous VT. The is also the home of the original Vermont Country Store, which is kid heaven with penny candy and old toys that we had growing up. They also sell sparklers:)

--Long Trail Brewery—Closest brewery to the farm. Go to Buttermilk Falls road and take a left. Drive one mile to route 103 and take a left. Drive ½ mile and take a left onto Route 100 North. Drive about 9 miles till you come to the town of Plymouth and turn right on Route 100A. Drive another 6 miles till the road T’s at Route 4. Take a left onto Route 4 and Long Trail is the first parking lot on your left. They have a nice pub menu and very good brew. The beer sampler holds two pints of beer:)

--Stores in Bridgewater—there is a fun junk/antique shop in an old gas station on your left. On your right will be the Mill. Miranda Thomas Pottery and Thomas Shackleton Furniture are there, both extremely well known and expensive. On the second floor is a cute rug shop. They make some of their rugs from t-shirts from the thrift shop on the third floor. All rugs are made in house. There are some nice jewelry stores in here as well as Ramunto's pizza with many brews on tap.

-- Woodstock-- Billings Farm is fantastic for kids. The entrance to Mt. Tom is just off the green straight through the covered bridge. Very cute shops in this town. A good place for dinner, local brew, mead, cider and wine is the Worthy (URL HIDDEN) along Route 4 just as you are headed to Quechee on your right about a 1/2 mile ish past the 90 degree corner where the gas stations are located.

--Quechee is a little bit further down the road and is worth the drive to Simon Pearce to see the glass blowing which is in the bottom of the store. I could watch it for hours. Cute wine bar open all day plus the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. Across from it is the Parker House. Nice outdoor seating for dinner and eclectic decor. Just down the road further along Route 4 is the Quechee Gorge Village where they have great ice cream, a diner, a train museum, a train for the kids to ride, wine tastings, cheese tastings (Cabot), antique museum, random fun shops and a distillery with tastings.

--Check out Harpoon Brewery as well with the Path of Life Garden which is gorgeous and fun for kids. They also have Farmstead Cheese Store there, a friend of mine is a cheese maker for them. They make a sort of brie style cheese called Lille that is crazy amazing. They have a distillery there as well called Silo. Harpoon gives tours for $5. Worth it, it is really great to see how it all works, I think even for kids if they are old enough. They serve lunch/dinner there as well.

--If you take a day trip up north, then I certainly recommend Ben and
Jerry's and the Teddy Bear Factory. Along Route 4 is Lincoln Peak Vineyard, Charlotte Vineyard and a winery/brewery in Brandon as well as Otter Creek and other breweries in the Burlington area--Magic Hat and beyond!

I grew up on a dairy farm in Illinois but followed my wild dreams of becoming a dancer on Broadway. I did it! I was in the musical Cats for a couple of years and worked in the NY theatre world for 10. I started coming to VT for the Weston Playhouse and fell in love with an old home. My dad and I renovated it into a retreat home I call Good Commons. I bought the farm where this apartment is located in 2011 and we are developing slowly towards sustainable agriculture.
