숙소
Charming, well laid out, and welcoming apartment, with a comfortable bed. I love offering this place to stay in one of the city's very popular neighborhoods. Buses are available to take you to most interesting tourist areas and in walking distance.

The cute turquoise dining table w/ table cloth is great for two or three guests.

It's a lovely Fremont getaway with prime location and lots of charm. There is a western exposure with good natural light, though less on cloudy days. Comfy bed! The bathroom isn't large but has a huge traditional bathtub - great for soaking and a heater to keep it cozy. There is bike parking in the lower basement. You can walk everywhere in Fremont, and also to the SPU campus, Wallingford, the Burke Gilman Trail, the Fremont Solstice Parade, Gasworks Park, etc.

Tucked away on a lovely "country lane" you get the feeling that you are far from the city.
Back yard is available and has a fire pit.

Outside your back door:
Expect plants and flowers to bloom and grow throughout spring summer and early fall; from late Oct to mid March the famous gray sky prevail; enjoy the well loved fire pit, pick herbs and raspberries in season right outside the kitchen door.
Take a walk:
Fremont has a super walk score of 87 - Walk into the 'village' of Fremont for groceries, shopping, night life, the troll, and a stroll along the Burke Gilman trail. Just be prepared for a steep hike up Phinney or Dayton north of N39th Street. There are lots of stairs that take the place of streets in the hillier sections. Check them out. (The apartment is on the south slope of Phinney ridge, and you can easily take the hill down to Fremont center on foot, with that hike on your way back.

Bus:
Buses are nearby (5-10 min walk) to take you to downtown, South Lake Union, UW, Ballard and more. All are within 20-30 minutes on the bus. Take the 5 to Pike Place Market or Greenwood. Bus info provided. Orca Pass provided on request with 5 days notice.

More:
The kitchen is great and you have your own private entrance with a garden outlook.
Comcast wifi is provided. Chromecast is available on the big screen too.

The laundry room is a few steps away in the owner's area through the door next to the stove. NOTE: Please make appointment for use.

QUIET? In general the apartment is very quiet and, you do hear people moving overhead. Since there is a no shoe rule upstairs too, the noise is pretty muffled, typically. The times you might notice movement are in the morning before work, and after 5:30 in the evening. With the shoes off policy people noises from upstairs are rarely an issue or commented on by guests. Now and then a late night or a holiday gathering might be noticeable but the house is typically quiet. Notify the host immediately if you are disturbed by upstairs noises.

For BATH lovers, the tub is extra long and great for a long soak. Please don't used deeply colored bath clays or other spa type ingredients as they stain the tub. There's a wall heater in the bathroom so you can always be super cozy - and a separate light across from the tub, just be sure to turn down the wall heater after leaving the room!

Vizio 40" flat screen, connected by Chrome Cast via wifi: whatever you get on your smart phone or iPad will be viewable. Be sure to sign up with chrome cast before leaving home so you have immediate access!

Neighborhood notes:
From this 1921 updated Seattle frame tudor, you can walk this neighborhood of great homes that are older, renovated, newly built or quite unique. It's a section of Fremont that is quiet and residential and yet close to everything. You can take the stairways on your local walks to explore the area with all its very neat nooks and crannies. Go up to N42nd Street on Phinney Ave (for a great workout). If you turn right onto Francis Ave., you can walk down this dead end street checking out the small side street and the great homes and views. And at the very end is the house that overlooks my parking area! I'm on what would have been Francis Ave had the street plummeted over the bluff and continued down to N. 39th Street.

Highly urban with an amazing country feel, come away to peace and comfort.

Downtown: 12-20 min drive & 20-30 bus
Pike Place Market: 12-20 minute drive
Ferries: 12-18 min drive (Coleman Dock) to Bainbridge Island and Bremerton and 20-25 min drive to Fauntleroy Ferry dock to Vashon Is and Southworth

1. Laundry room is outside your back door on the right in the older section of the basement behind the curtain. The light switch is above on the ceiling over the dryer. You walk past the water heaters on your right and the electrical panel on your left. This area is a very old Seattle 1920's basement-like feel but concrete and laundry room are painted!

2. Fire pit - check with host regarding fires and burn bans - please provide replacement wood from supermarket if you use a lot, and keep a pail of water near by to douse coals when you are done!

3. Parking is in front and there is room for three vehicles or four. Street parking is plentiful as well. (See photo of gravel parking area)

There is a designated parking spot for the apt. by the stairs/next to the fir tree.

4. Recycle/Compost/Garbage
Seattle is strong on recycling. There are three bins to use:
Recycle clean paper, plastic (not individual bags however), metal and glass in the small, dusty yellow IKEA garbage can.
Put all compostable items including bones in the dark pink compost bin (small) next to the front door.
All other garbage goes in the open bin under the sink.

The apartment is your private home away from home.

Once you have been welcomed and shown around the apartment, or you pick up the key, you will be completely at home, and unless there are items you need or a problem of some kind, the interaction can be minimal. It's up to you.
If you are new to airbnb, I request a reference if you haven't yet received a review.

How many ways do I love my neighborhood? Hard to count. It just gets better and better as does Seattle in general. I will post more here later but Fremont is a great area to choose for your visit - location, amenities, fun things to do, great shops and restaurants, live music venues
….

Bus transportation works here.
The 5 and the 28 are good choices. The stops are within a few blocks between a 5 and 10 minute walk.
You can walk everywhere in Fremont, as well as take a long walk to Green Lake via the Woodland Park Zoo on N 50th Street. There are many stairs that take you from one street to the other in the neighborhood. It's always possible to get in a good morning or evening walk to your favorite cafe, park or night spot.
Taxis are an option for more distant locations in the city, or try UBER which is popular here. Uber is an Application driven taxi service - check it out. It's reliable and less expensive than a traditional taxi.

CHECKING OUT: Please leave the apartment as you found it. Leave the key on the table or under the mat if requested.
Other notes: Don't strip the bed (sheets and pillow cases) or remake it. Adjust the wall thermostats to a little below current temperature setting by listening for the click and dialing a bit lower that that. And let host know if there is anything that didn't work well or needs attention that could be overlooked by housekeepers; leave the living room light on low when you leave and the key on the kitchen table.

Thank you for your visit and please come again!

I love art and "creation." I love to travel. I look forward to winter snowshoeing, some US travel, hosting on airbnb and a trip to Germany (Autumn 2019). 2020 will be my 8th year as an airbnb host. I speak French and Spanish (much better French) and I have worked in education, real estate, video, and parade art ensemble builds. My home is in the "center of the Universe" in the artsy and eclectic Fremont area - where you find the Troll under Aurora bridge, a great PCC coop, banks, shops, cafes, and a great night life as well. 2020 Holiday Season Holiday events in and around Fremont include the lighting of the Lenin Statue (for real), a parade of caroling boats creating truly heavenly sounds, the annual Winter Feast on or close to Dec 21, great shopping for unique gifts at all the local shops, First Friday art walk, New Years Eve spectacular fire works on Lake Union, and access to all the Seattle 2020 holiday excitement including the Nutcracker with the Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Seattle Symphony's New Years Eve Party! Summer Solstice The famous Fremont Solstice Parade happens every June close to summer solstice. Creator of the Ice Queenistas 2009-2012 I was an Ice Queen Clown in 2014 and accompanied a 7 foot articulated wolf/dog made from reed and white papier machee created by local artist, Sarah Lovett. In 2015 I was a banner carrier with the lead Samba ensemble group Girasol. The Neighborhood As to the Fremont neighborhood, I moved here years ago thinking I'd stay a couple of years but many lattes, parades and 3 homes later, I'm still here. We have a smaller community of artsy, smart and creative people with heart, in the middle of the big city. I live on a hill and have a great view of Mt Rainier on a sunny / clear day from one of the rooms and the back deck. And it's always great to come home to this charming and awesome neighborhood. FOODIE w/o gluten!! After years, and maybe more years, I'm pretty much gluten and heavy carb free. My cooking includes salads, chicken, veggies both raw and cooked, broths and soups, coffee, tea, coconut and chocolate desserts. Love coconut oil and fresh salmon. But I taste just about everything and never turn my nose up my guests regional cooking shares. MORE... For myself living without the open road, great friends, dream time, and my favorite shoes including some well seasoned ostrich boots from the Boot Lady in Seattle, is not an option. AND along with 2 treetop rooms upstairs, the cute and lovable 1 bedroom apartment is available for you too. With a full kitchen and bath, and a great 40" Vizio flat screen that works with your chrome cast service, you will love it. If you want extra privacy, your own fridge and cooking space, and/or room for a couple of friends to travel with you, pick this option. If you want 100% remodeled please continue your search. If you love the unique and artistic life, clean, well supplied and situated on a country lane in the city do check out "Super cool in artsy Fremont"! Favorite coffee - Lighthouse Roaster from right up the street at 43rd and Phinney. Favorite view - from the sun dial at the top of Gas Works Park hill. Favorite Seattle park - Discovery Park What I think about Eastern WA - it's an excellent secret - with wide open valleys, rolling hills, rivers, wheat fields and when the rain is over the top in Seattle, there's nearly always SUN! How I feel about Puget Sound - big love - have to hop a ferry at least a few times a year to visit an Island or the Olympic Penninsula; have to walk on a gravel beach and skip a few rocks to remember the incomparable beauty of the place; seagulls make me happy. Mt. Rainier is my sacred mountain - it calls me each year at least once to hike or snowshoe and feel the awesome presence of its magnetic core. I love traveling in France and Europe in general, Mexico, the American West and Southwest, and now, South America. My favorite way to travel is to friends or family who live there. Or with a group of like minded people on a small group tour. Or by car locally and in the Southwest where the wide open spaces bring freedom to my soul.
