We live in a modern house located next to the Moonlight Creek. It is located on a beef farm, 9km from Blackball, which is the start of the Paparoa track. It is a peaceful spot, no neighbours, 300m from the Atarau road, with a view out of every window. There are two rooms available - 'Moonlight
Creek" and "Roaring Meg"(see other listing).
Have a drink next to the Moonlight creek, jump in and have a swim, or catch yourself a trout. A great place to sit back and relax

The property is non smoking and has a small dog and a cat which live in the house. The guest bathroom is shared with other guests if the other room is booked. There are water hazards in the area so not suitable for small children. Continental breakfast of toast, spreads cereal and yogurt is supplied

Moonlight (Atarau, the official Maori name) has a history of gold mining, saw milling and farming. The area has good hiking, fishing, gold panning and mountain biking. It is near Blackball, the start of the Paparoa track. 6.5 km from the access road to the Pike 29 Memorial Track, so you could do the round trip up the Paparoa and down the Pike29 memorial (when it opens).

Hi, I'm Peter and I live with here with my partner Leanne. I was brought up in Moonlight and ended up purchasing part of the family farm.
I worked as a police officer for 16 years, managing the farm part time. A few years ago I left full time work at the police to concentrate on the farm.
Leanne works in Greymouth as a Legal Executive in a law firm.
The children have left the nest to head to the city, so we have space for guests to stay.
We enjoy the outdoors, mountain biking and gardening. We have made some artistic pieces both in and out the house. The biggest is the Easter Island head at the end of the driveway
