Mahali Petu is a three year old guest house situated well off the road with meadow views. It is built of high quality materials and finishes. The kitchen is fully equipped and offers custom cabinetry & granite countertops. The full bath offers a walk-in European shower with dual shower heads. There is extensive outdoor decking with seating, a gas grill, fire pit, hot tub and an outdoor shower.

A country setting, but walking distance to area restaurants and boutique shopping. We are surrounded by a myriad of walking, hiking and mountain biking trails. The Mohonk Preserve's Spring Farm trail head is three miles up the road from us. We are 20 minutes from Minnewaska State Park. There are several access points to the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail in close proximity. There are two public golf courses within a few miles; The Mohonk Mountain House Golf Course and Stone Dock Golf Course.

My husband Bob and I are long time residents of High Falls. We are outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy gardening, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, snowshoeing and horseback riding. High Falls, and the surrounding area, offers a myriad of activities and we are happy to introduce them to our guests. We built Mahali Petu ("Our Place" in Swahili) ourselves and look forward to sharing it with others. We live on-site, on a total of 22 acres. The main house and guest house are approximately 200' apart. We continue to work on surrounding plantings and natural, privacy landscaping. We have a Bernese Mountain dog, Monty, and an invisible fence between the two houses.
