EL MANANTIAL DOES NOT OFFER SELF-CATERING ACCOMMODATION

El Manantial is an organic small holding situated in the foothills of the Andes in NW Patagonia, 12 km north from El Bolsón in the rural area of Mallín Ahogado and 130 km south of San Carlos de Bariloche in Rio Negro Province.

El Manantial is a cosy log house set in native woodland and in an area of small farms. It is ideal for those who want to chill out and to relax from the daily routine or extensive travel. Many people who have stayed have enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, the warm hospitality and congenial conversation after a long time on the road staying at hostels.

The area offers plenty of outdoor activities for those who like to be out and about in the Great Outdoors. Not far to the west is the trail head at Warton’s that leads to the various refuge huts along the Río Azul toward El Cajón and beyond to the source of the river deep in the Cordillera de los Andes.
To the south there is Lago Puelo where you can spend a pleasant day walking along the shore, taking a boat trip to the border with Chile, lazing on the beach and taking a swim in the lake. There is a bus from El Bolsón town centre that takes you there.

The accommodation is simple but comfortable and good home cooking using organic products from the vegetable garden is an option for those who don’t always want to eat out in town. Special dietary requirements can be catered for. The accommodation, which isn't self-catering, is ideal for solo travellers and couples. Small families can be catered for, however.

El Manantial is 20 minutes away from the delightful town of El Bolsón with its colourful handicrafts market, a variety of restaurants, the most delicious ice creams you’ve ever tasted made with the soft fruits for which this area is famous. Try the local beers: this is the only hop growing area in Argentina.

The summer season brings a series of local town festivals and there is a rich cultural life with artists, musicians and actors ready to entertain you.
