Be one of the first guests to stay in a newly renovated 900 sq ft 1 bed apartment. Except for the art, everything is brand new! This apt is located 10 min (literally a straight drive down 1 street) to DTLA. You can also walk for 10-15 min to the Indiana Stop & take the subway to DTLA.

Great location if you need easy access to Downtown LA and the subway. We are located in Boyle Heights, LA next to Entity Mag HQ.

Pls be respectful of our neighbors & other tenants. This is not a party house.

숙소
Please be aware that check in starts at 4pm on the first day of your stay, not earlier. This is to ensure that your stay does not overlap with another guest’s stay (who may be checking out earlier that day) and so that we can thoroughly clean and disinfect the entire Airbnb. If the Airbnb is available earlier, I will let the guest know on the day of check in but I cannot guarantee it.

If you require an early check in or late check out time, you will need to book an additional day before or after your original booking dates.

Our goal is to make you feel at home.

PARKING: This Airbnb comes with one tandem parking space on the property. That means you will be parking back to back in a straight line with another guest in another Airbnb. I will have you exchange numbers so no one gets blocked in. There is also free street parking.

*Please be aware that because parking is tandem, if you anticipate having to move your car very early/late or at a specific time, it is your RESPONSIBILITY to let the other guest or host know in advance and make arrangements.

The apartment is located on a property with 3 detached houses. There are other guests on the property. This apartment is part of a duplex house on a residential street. There is one common wall with another apartment. This airbnb would not be appropriate for guests looking to entertain or make a lot of noise.

Please look at the photos carefully before you book. You’ll see the layout, artwork, and interior design represented clearly. You should not book this Airbnb if anything in the photos bothers you.

There is an electric kettle, stove/oven, fridge, and microwave in the kitchen.

At this time, there is a window AC unit in the bedroom only. There are two fans in the living room.

Please note that we do not provide bodywash. However, there is shampoo and hand soap in the bathroom.

Please be respectful of our family's home, other tenants, and neighbors. No smoking or vaping inside. No parties or unauthorized filming. This is not a party house or a recording studio.

Please do not blast music from your car in the driveway. Our neighbor’s bedroom is 2 feet away. This is a residential area within the city of Los Angeles - which means small lots and high density zoning. Please do not disturb our neighbors.

There is a high school and elementary school at the end of the block. When school starts and finishes are the only times there is really any foot traffic in front of the house. You will usually notice kids littering snack wrappers in front of the house around 3-4 as they walk home.

게스트 이용 가능 공간/시설
Guests will have access to the front and back yard. This apartment has two entry doors. One to the front yard, and one to the back yard.

기타 주의사항
Our goal is to make you feel at home and comfortable. That being said, we are not mind readers and encourage guests to communicate with us. We cannot help you or resolve any issues if you don't tell us. I CANNOT REPEAT THIS ENOUGH.

The apartment is located on a property with 3 detached houses. There are other guests on the property. This apartment is part of a duplex house on a residential street. There is one common wall with another apartment. This airbnb would not be appropriate for guests looking to entertain or make a lot of noise. If you want a completely separate, standalone house, where a wall is not shared, please check out our other listing for 500 SQ Foot House.

There is an electric kettle, a fridge, stove, and microwave in the kitchen.

Please make sure you like the photos before booking. The layout, scale, artwork, furniture are fully visible. If you have an issue with any one of these items-such as the size of the fridge- the size of the desk- the shape of the sink ( all real complaints ), please be aware we are fully disclosing the look and layout of the apt.

Please be respectful of our family's home, other tenants, and neighbors. No smoking or vaping inside. Not even through the window. No parties or unauthorized filming. This is not a party house or a recording studio.

No playing music outdoors in the front or back yards.

No medical stays.

Please note that we have not finished renovating the exterior of the house. Actually, you'll see that the exterior of all three of the detached houses on the property have exteriors in different states from completed - to untouched. We had been renovating for a grueling 8 months and we needed a break. Although there is nothing unsafe about the exterior, you will notice that we still need to do some cosmetic renovations to the exterior for aesthetic purposes such as repaint the outside, etc. But everything on the interior has been renovated. All the windows and doors are new. We had been renovating for 8 months straight with permits and 10 city inspections from Building and Safety. (Most people don't renovate legally or with safety inspections with the city.) We needed a break. So yes, the outside is ugly. The inside is not.

I need to mention this because we have recently had guests who, although were satisfied with the interior, were unhappy about the cosmetic appearance from the outside. This apt is in a duplex house in the Craftsman style. If the exterior architecture or exterior cosmetics of a house is important to a guest, please take that into consideration when booking. ( I have to mention this because we recently had guests who although were happy with the apt, gave us low ratings only because they thought the exterior of the house was ugly. Not unsafe. Ugly. If exterior aesthetics are an important factor in your booking, there are plenty of hotels and listings in the city, which may cost a multiple of this listing but may be more in line with a guest's expectations.

We are still waiting on the city (7 governmental depts including an air quality and environmental permit/inspection, endless inspections, permits in total and a process that started Spring 2018) to have the go ahead to finish the second phase of our renovation on the exterior for cosmetic improvements. We cannot proceed with any more work until this process is complete. So yes, the exterior will have to stay ugly for now.

LA, like SF, is one of the most regulated and expensive cities in the USA. For instance we have the highest minimum wage, highest taxes, highest gas prices, some of the highest housing costs and requirements/regulation/permits, etc. in the entire country. The cost of living, goods, and services is high in LA. That being said, our the quality of the interior, characteristics of our listings are generally 1/2 to 1/3 the price of a similar lisiting in West LA, for example. Even in Silverlake - our listing price will get you a room in a host's occupied home, instead of your own apt. Please be realistic.

I'm sorry that some of these points might seem obvious but we have had enough guests with these concerns or questions that I feel disclosing all of these issues will be helpful.

Honestly, it's all about the experience that you are seeking. Some guests might want to book an airbnb where they feel like an exchange student welcomed into another family. This is not that kind of airbnb. It's set up to make you feel like you have your own place.

위치

로스앤젤레스, 캘리포니아, 미국

We are close to: DTLA, Silverlake, Echo Park, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Arts District, Monterey Park, El Monte, Vernon, Cypress Park, El Sereno, Arts District, Keck USC Hospital, Cal State LA, Staples Center, Nokia Theatre, Dodger Stadium, Soho Club (DTLA), Convention Center, Museum of Contemporary Art, The Broad, Hauser Wirth & Schimmel, Sci Arc, Alhambra, Mount Washington, Highland Park, Montecito Heights, USC's main campus, Fashion District, Flower Market, etc.

The airbnb is located next to Entity Magazine Headquarters in Boyle Heights, just 10 minutes (down 1st Street) from Downtown Los Angeles.

There is a CVS drugstore, 24 hour Laundromat with fluff & fold, gas station, grocery store 2 blocks from the house. The subway station (Indiana Stop on the Goldline) is a 10 min walk and will take you downtown. The nearest Starbucks is about a 10 min walk on 3rd St and Gage Ave. Unlike most LA neighborhoods, we have easy access to all major freeways.

The immediate neighborhood is a residential neighborhood with a lots of families. There is an elementary and high school at the end of the block. Many of our neighbors have lived in the neighborhood for generations and are wonderful people. Some of our guests - particularly those that have never been to LA and/or are less travelled - have unfortunately made some statements or have come to some conclusions that are uninformed / unfair. I'm going to be blunt. First, I would like to say that having grown up in LA, and having lived all over from the Westside to the suburbs since immigrating to this country in the '80s, LA is unlike any other city in the world - which might make it hard to understand for the new visitor. The majority of our neighbors are Hispanic Americans who can trace their lineage back to this country for multiple generations. The largest ethnic group in LA (and California) will soon be Hispanic. Our neighbors really watch out for each other and there is a strong sense of community.

Los Angeles is diverse like any other large metropolitan - international city like London, New York, Chicago, Toronto, Seoul, Sydney, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, Berlin, Paris. We are located in a city - not a fuzzy planned community in the suburbs or a homogenous affluent enclave like Irvine, Laguna, or La Jolla. (No offense.) Obviously, one should exercise common sense and caution in any large city with millions of people. Just because you are in an area perceived to be "whiter" like Hollywood (which isn’t so, btw), does not make your safer. You are in a major city with millions of people from all over the world doing millions of things. Some parts of LA have a higher population density than Manhattan. To take issue with the fact that the predominant ethnicity in the neighborhood (and LA for that matter) is Hispanic would be like going to Quebec and saying you don’t want to interact with French speaking people. A bit unrealistic and not inline with our values.

I really encourage visitors to get out of their comfort zone and experience all the amazing experiences this city has to offer. The food and music scenes are exploding. There are many museums and galleries throughout the city. There are free farmers markets, flea markets, and summer festivals such as Chinatown nights. There are countless music venues and fun bars. Many well known American labels actually get their clothing produced right here in DTLA. It's the last and largest clothing production capital in the US, no wonder so many indie labels keep popping up. LA is sprawling, it takes a little bit more effort to get from one neighborhood to the next as we are a horizontal city (rather than vertical).

I'm a designer living in Los Angeles. I love meeting new people and exploring other cultures and traveling. We’ve had guests from all over the world (Middle East, Africa, Europe, North & South America, all of Asia, Australia.) I have lived all over this city from the Westside to the suburbs over a 30 year period and I can't imagine living anywhere else.
