Surrounded by Mennonite and Amish farmland, Hertzog Homestead Bed & Breakfast offers privacy and elegance. Built by the innkeeper's ancestors, this 1760s farm and suites burst with warmth and charm. The perfect place to get away.
숙소
The Meyer Suite is the perfect way to experience the Amish Country. Decorated in Amish décor, the suite provides farmland views where horse and buggies can be seen trotting by.
Why the Meyer Suite?
This suite is named after Elias and Peter Meyer. Elias first purchased the land of the Hertzog Homestead in 1738 from the sons of William Penn. He built a grain mill and a house down by the Conestoga River, the house which can still be seen along North Farmersville Road. In 1760, he deeded the Northern part of his land to his son Peter, who build the Sweitzer Barn on the homestead in the mid-1760s and also built the largest part of the house in the late 1760s, where the Historic Metzler Suite is located.
게스트 이용 가능 공간/시설
Guests are free to walk throughout the property and farm. The "on property" swimming pool is, unfortunately, unavailable to guests as is the barn.

Scott and Kristen Hertzog have been enjoying the company of guests from around the world who come and visit the Hertzog Homestead Bed and Breakfast since 2003. Scott’s heritage on this farm dates back to the days when the first Mennonites settled the area in the mid-1700s. Scott’s talents include genealogical research on the people and the history of the Hertzog Homestead. Many of the antiques that decorate the bed and breakfast have come down through generations of Scott’s family. His new book My First 250 Years: The Story of the Hertzog Homestead is now available in our Online Boutique. Through stories, humor, and historical research, Scott relives the ways of years gone by and considers the family’s future legacy. Scott is the 8th generation descendant of an unbroken family bloodline to live on the Hertzog Homestead. The Mennonite church, the one room school house, and road by the homestead also bear the name of his original ancestor Jacob Metzler. Born and raised in Edison, New Jersey, Kristen brings a unique and fresh perspective into the Mennonite culture. Kristen was an Amish tour guide and has worked various marketing positions in the Pennsylvania Dutch tourism industry including Sight and Sound Theatres and Plain and Fancy Farms. She was awarded the Women of Influence 2017 Award by the Cental Pennsylvania Business Journal for her leadership and innovation at Hertzog Homestead. Scott, Kristen, and the Hertzog Homestead Team welcome you to their home and look forward to meeting new friends and extending their hospitality!
