You absolutely cannot beat this location! The cottage is nestled atop Old Town’s prestigious Main Street in Park City and is an authentic miner's cottage right in the heart of it all, but in a serene neighborhood setting. You have direct access to Old Town's world renowned restaurants, shops, art galleries, nightlife, hiking and biking, all only steps from the cottage. At day's end enjoy relaxing in the private hot tub while listening to the sound of the stream in the backyard. No car necessary!

숙소
The Cottage on Main is a duplex consisting of a two bedroom unit (Unit A) and a one bedroom unit (Unit B). THIS LISTING IS FOR UNIT A, a two bedroom unit that sleeps up to six. In addition to the two bedrooms, there is also a full bathroom (with a stackable washer and dryer unit), a living room (with a sofa that pulls out to a queen bed), and a full kitchen. The Cottage on Main was built in 1880 and is an authentic miner's cabin. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is known as the James Louder House.

I follow Airbnb’s five-step enhanced cleaning process, which is based on Airbnb’s cleaning handbook that was developed in partnership with experts.

**PLEASE NOTE: The living room and kitchen areas are smaller spaces nicely accommodating up to four people but tight for six. Unit A also has private and exclusive access to the deck and hot tub. The backyard boasts a stream running through, and a trail just above. The Cottage on Main is perfectly nestled atop Main Street, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

**PLEASE NOTE: The cottage is a duplex with a common wall between the units and noise travels. I ask my guests to be conscious of noise levels at all times but if you are at all concerned about noise disruptions this may not be the right place for you. Please message me for any additional information that may help you make a more informed decision before you book.

The Cottage on Main is perfectly situated at the top of Park City's historic Main Street ~ it is just far enough away from all that Main Street has to offer, so it's peaceful, but only a stone's throw away from from the heart of it all. WANT TO KNOW 25 (and counting) FUN FACTS ABOUT PARK CITY? Here we Go ~

1. City of Champions ~
At the 2014 Sochi Olympics, 7 out of the 230 United State Athletes hailed from Park City while another 33 have direct ties to the town, meaning they live here, train here or went to school here. (Three such athletes have a parent or step-parent affiliated with Summit Sotheby’s International Realty.) In fact, 14 of the 28 medals earned in Sochi came from this area.

2. The “Ten O’Clock Whistle” ~
Established in 1905 to warn the City’s young people of curfew, it’s the funny noise you hear in old town. Originally a bell to warn of fire danger, it has since been replaced with an electric siren that still rings every night at 10 p.m. So listen for it, it's slighting haunting ...

3. The Skiers Subway ~
In 1963 Park City Mountain, then known asTreasure Mountain, used subway cars through old mining tunnels to cart skiers 2.5 miles through the mountain to the slopes. The ride was pitch black, cold and wet and lasted one hour. After the ride, skiers used a mining elevator that lifted them 1,750 feet to the base of the Thaynes Canyon ski lift. You can go to the Park City Museum on Main Street to check out an actual cart (and a lot more!).

4. Discovered in 1868 ~
Park City was discovered circa the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad in 1868 by soldiers who started panning for silver. It was incorporated in 1884 and its population grew to 7,500 by 1898 (not far off from today!)

5. Local Population ~
Park City’s population is currently 7,873 (and counting) and is often outnumbered by tourists.

6. Film Enthusiasts Converge ~
Home to the largest film festival in the United States, the Sundance Film Festival happens every January when 50,000 celebrities, moviemakers, and film enthusiasts visit the town.

7. Wealthy and Worldly ~
Park City is considered one of the wealthiest towns in the United States and is notable for having a large number of Northern and Central European immigrants.

8. High Altitude ~
An easy one! Park City is nestled in the Wasatch Mountains at 7,000 ft. above sea level.

9. Three Olympic Venues ~
Deer Valley and Park City Mountain Resort were both official venues for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. But did you know that Main Street Park City was also listed as a non-competitive venue?

10. Solitude on the Slopes ~
Deer Valley Resort actually limits the number of skiers it will allow on the busiest of days. During holiday and busy times, the resort will often sell out and won’t just accept your money for a ticket – all in the name of preserving uncrowded slopes that have made them the #1 ski resort by the readers of SKI Magazine.

11. Voted “Best Town Ever” ~
Park City was voted “Best Town Ever” by Outside Magazine 2013. Interested folks could cast their vote online with an impressive two thirds of Park City’s population clicking on their town.

12. A Whiskey First ~
Park City was home to Utah’s first distillery since prohibition. High West’s actual whiskey distilling is now located a few miles out of town, in Wanship, but the original building houses a bar and restaurant. Known for whiskey, this place also claims to be the world’s first ski-in gastro-pub.

13. Trails Are Tops ~
Home to over 400 miles of trails, there is no questioning that Parkites and visitors love trails. So much so that a 2010 and 2014 bonds for trails and open space totaling $10 million passed with 72% of the vote. Note the bond is for Snyderville Basin, just outside of Park City but still considered Park City. Park City is also the only Gold Level ride center as named by IMBA.

14. A Foodie’s Dream ~
Over 100 restaurants are packed into this small town, most of them situated on the picturesque Main St.

15. National and International Access ~
It’s a 35 minute ride to Salt Lake International Airport from Park City, one of the most convenient commutes to any mountain town you’ll find.

16. New Connections ~
A $50 million renovation project will soon connect Park City Mountain Resort to the Canyons Resort making it the largest ski resort in the country.

17. A Park Renovated ~
Built for the 2002 Olympics, the Utah Olympic Park offers much for the Olympian AND the novice! Currently undergoing a major $3 million dollar renovation, “Project Big Air” will include 7 sport-specific ramps, making this the premier training facility in the world. Catch a Flying Aces show this summer.

18. Swaner Open Space ~
The Swaner Nature Preserve and EcoCenter make up 1,200 open space acres of land. With over 10 miles of non-motorized trails this is a haven for animal of all species as well as people looking for a nature experience.

19. Thousands of Artists ~
A year-round art gallery (free to the public) and center for art classes for all ages and abilities the Kimball strives to make art exciting and accessible for all. Each July they host the juried Park City Art Festival where thousands of Art enthusiasts mingle with Artists from all over the country.

20. Get on Board, It’s Free ~
Park City transportation – from busses to the Main Street Trolley – is completely free to passengers. There are 9 routes plus the trolley and Dial-a-Ride. No need to drive and park when you have such transit convenience!

22. The Cottage on Main is Optimally Located to Take Advantage of it All ~
From the Cottage on Main You can walk everywhere or you can jump on the free trolley, which stops right outside the front door, and take it anywhere and everywhere on Main Street. You can also trolley to Town Lift to ski at Park City Mountain Resort, or you can trolley to the free Park City transportation system to get to Canyons Resort, Deer Valley, and Park City Mountain Resort (Get on Board, It’s Free!)

23. So as You Have Probably Figured Out - You DO NOT NEED A CAR ~
Once you get to Park City, you will not need a car. You can take a shuttle/Lyft/Uber/Taxi to and from the Salt Lake City Airport. Parking is limited and expensive in Park City, especially during ski-season and the Sundance Film Festival, and with Park City's free transportation system you can literally get anywhere you need to go so there is really no need for a car.

I was born in New Zealand, grew up in Utah, and now live in Los Angeles, California. I have always loved Park City, and Old Town in particular, so when my husband and I decided to buy a vacation home we quickly agreed that Park City would be the perfect place. We love the location of the Cottage on Main not only because it's in Old Town, but because it is nestled at the top of Park City's Historic Main Street -- this puts us close to everything we love to do, but in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood setting. We have two gorgeous children and three adorable pets and we spend as much time as we can at the Cottage on Main where we can enjoy everything Park City has to offer -- we really love it and we hope you will too!
