The neighborhood is a wonderful place to stroll around and enjoy the Victorian architecture. The famous St James Court fountain is 2 beautiful blocks walk as well as the Conrad Caldwell Mansion (tours are available). Central Park (Louisville) was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted is in the next block. He also designed Central Park in New York.
As with many places, you must be street smart and use common sense when interacting with strangers.
