숙소
(We require reservations to be booked by the person who's going to stay at the listing) Waimea is at elevation 2,500 ft so no air conditioning is needed. Great for a good night sleep! Our home is well insulated but we do provide fans for any really hot days.
Our guests appreciate a well-designed space that offers beauty and comfort with unique artistic touches that give a flavor of Old Hawaii. (Artists and interior designers, you've found your place!) They also enjoy charming outside spaces that offer both shade and sunshine, quiet time alone and spaces to gather. (Landscapers! There are four "outside rooms" to discover!) If you'd like to Bar-B-Q on a patio surrounded by lush flowering plants and birdsong, or love to cook in a well-equipped kitchen with fresh herbs from the garden, we've thought of you too! Musicians, you are very welcome to play our piano and guitar. Every square foot has been lovingly created for your enjoyment, to delight your senses and refresh your soul. We're happy you've found us. In fact, you may not want to leave!

Whether you're here for a vacation, to live like a local or to look for a home in our unique town, we're happy to share our cottage and neighborhood with you. It's the perfect base from which to take advantage of all that the Big Island has to offer (and that's a lot!)

Waimea (or Kamuela) is primarily known for its cowboys, rodeo’s, and prime horseback-riding. There are however many more activities that can be enjoyed from Waimea, and most popular of all, the most beautiful beaches on the Island are only 15 mins away by car.

Nearby, Waipi’o valley is one of the most scenic places on the Big Island and offers stunning vistas and many miles of hiking trails and a black sand beach. Of course, there are also several options in town that you should not miss when passing through. Also check out the historic sugar plantations towns on the North coast such as Hawi and Honokaa, both a short drive away. Day trips to Kona and Hilo are both easy from our central locations.

Activities and attraction that are specific to Waimea: Think of visiting the Parker Ranch, farmers markets or the local brewpub. Check out the schedule at the Kahilu Theatre which brings world class acts to town and local acts at their smaller theatre, the Mike Luce.

ACTIVITIES AND ATTRACTIONS IN WAIMEA
If you like going local as well as good breakfasts, we suggest you go for breakfast at one of Waimea’s Saturday farmers markets for a good start of your day. At night, you can get your fill (and Mexican food) at the Big Island Brewhaus, which serves very tasty homemade beer and is another “must-taste” in Waimea.
THE BIG ISLAND BREWHAUS on the Big Island started selling their homemade beers on march 4th 2011. Its owner has won over 30 national and international awards before opening his own place. This place is definitely worth a visit.

Parker Ranch VISIT THE PARKER OR ANNA RANCH TO LEARN ABOUT HAWAIIAN COWBOYS
The Parker Ranch on the Big Island was once upon a time the largest ranch in the united states. Their history is interwoven with that of the American presence in Hawaii, and nowadays they also organize very interesting horseback riding excursions. Read more about the Parker Ranch in Waimea. Another old Ranch house you can visit is the Anna Ranch (which also hosts a weekly farmers market, see below). They host a “Historic ranch house tour” 4 days / week where you can learn about the history of ranching on Hawaii, which goes as far back as the days of King Kamehamea I.

There also are some pretty cool things to do close to Pololu valley to make your visit into a small road trip.

My husband Scotty and I are both artist musicians who love where we live in Waimea on the Big Island. My husband has lived here for 40 years, and I have lived here for almost 20 years. We both enjoy antiques, art and design, playing music, sharing good food and wine with friends, and the natural beauty of Hawaii. I write music, paint, am an avid reader who also likes to garden and use the fresh herbs I grow in my cooking. I also love Interior design, especially outdoor rooms. My husband Scotty is a graphic designer screen printer. and plays in several bands. We are part of the local thriving musical community here, and also run a regular performing arts event at the Kahilu Theatre . I am originally from the UK, I love old architecture and love homes with character. Our passions are definitely reflected in our home.
