(Boat transportation not included read further for this information and COVID 19 precautions at Fernleecove)

Taking month long booking inquiries for July and August 2021 (15% booking discount)

숙소
Unlike the majority of water front properties this close to Vancouver the value in staying at the Fernleecove cabin is in being able to rent an entire home with it's own ocean frontage and relative privacy from it's neighbors.
Fernleecove is a boat or paddle access only cabin, no roads connect to it from town--meaning you will need water transportation to the cabin. I offer a single round trip pickup and drop off to get you to and from the cabin for $80 CDN or $40 one way. This fare includes everyone in your party. A prompt for this fare fee will come through Airbnb messaging after you've checked in. Please let me know If you need or do not need water transportation upon booking.
Generally guests remain at the cabin for their booking and unless you have your own water transportation it is necessary to bring all food needed for the duration of your stay. Scroll down to "Other things to note" section of my listing for info on convenient stores to do pretrip grocery shopping.
There are rock and wood steps leading up from the dock to the 500 square foot cabin. It has a kitchen, living room with a sofabed, table with chairs and a fireplace. Attached to this space is a small storage closet, a bathroom and a small bedroom that sleeps two comfortably. There are electric baseboards throughout so it is easy keep warm in the winter.

-COVID 19 Precautions at Fernleecove: -At this time bookings are only available for residence of British Columbia. -Buffer time between bookings allow for the cabin to sit empty and for extra cleaning precautions. -For boat transportation passengers are required to sit in the open air seating area of the boat and must manage their own luggage in and out of the boat. Thanks, James

• BATHROOM: Shower, bath towels hung on towel pegs, hand soap, shampoo, hair dryer and extra toilet paper in the bathroom sink cabinet.

• DOCK: Private dock suitable for up to one 24' boat with 15 to 20 foot deep water moorage on the south side (tidal ocean inlet).

• FIREPLACE: From October till the end of May 53L bins worth of fire wood is supplied per night booked if no fire ban is in place. This chopped wood will be in the wood basket beside the fireplace and in navy 53L plastic bin(s) behind the side outdoor deck.

• BBQ: Barbecue with propane fuel is supplied under a covered patio area.

• WINDOW SCREENS: The cabin is equipped with screens on all the main windows and the front door. In late spring insects like mosquitos can be about.

• WATER: Excellent UV treated and filtered drinking water out of all the indoor faucets.

• INTERNET: WIFI is available but can be disconnected if requested. Wifi password is posted above the fireplace mantle.

• CELL RECEPTION: Good G3 cell coverage at the cabin.

• KAYAKS: Two single kayaks and life jackets. are available for guest use from mid June till the end of September. (not from Fall to spring for safety reasons)

• ROWBOAT: For bookings of three or four guests a rowboat is available on the dock for use year round.

• HIKING: There is an excellent but steep trail behind the cabin to a spectacular view point 270 meters above the ocean. A trail map is posted in the cabin. The trail typically takes guests 40 minutes to hike up. Some guests have found that the loose trail unsuitable for casual foot wear.

• CRABBING: A “tidal water sport license” is necessary for crabbing in Canada, so if you have yours let me know and I will leave a crab trap on the dock for you. You can get your own license online--just web search "BC Sport Fishing Guide - Crabs and Crabbing" to buy yours and to find information on crabbing regulations. I suggest bringing fish or chicken scraps for bait as the crabs seem to like these oily meats best. For cooking crabs there is a large pot at the cabin and a blue plastic bucket for bringing them back up to the cabin.

기타 주의사항
• FERNLEECOVE: Fernleecove is in a forested ocean inlet. It is remarkable in that even though it is in a relatively remote location it is still very close to Vancouver city.

• NEIGHBOURHOOD AREA: cabin is one of two water access only acreages in the immediate area, both have access to their own beaches, private docks and their own privacy.

• NEIGHBOURHOOD WILDLIFE: Occasionally grey whales, orca whales and sea lions can be spotted in the inlet. On land there have been a few sightings of mountain lions and black bears in Deep Cove and the Cascade, Fernleecove, Brighton beach areas. Be aware of this and travel with caution around the property. Keep food and garbage inside away from wild life.

• PRETRIP GROCERY SHOPPING: For getting groceries before your Fernleecove trip take a look at my Airbnb guidebook. I have bookmarked way points to a number of stores along the way to Deep Cove. Note that the closest grocery stores to the Deep Cove community center are 3 km away.

• WATER TAXI: If you have arranged a boat ride from me to the cabin I will be picking you up from "The Deep Cove Government Dock". When looking out to the water the Government Dock is on the right side of the bay, It is marked on maps and for reference is close to the cross streets: Gallant Ave. and Banbury Road. Should you need additional transportation web search "coveboattaxi" for pricing. Let me know If you need or do not need water transportation upon booking.

• PARKING: It is legal to park overnight in the parking lot behind "The Deep Cove Kayak Centre" for three nights and on the streets around Deep Cove unless signage says otherwise. Deep Cove is a busy place especially on sunny days or on weekends. I suggest arriving at least 15 minutes early to find parking and for getting down to the dock. Having extra time to spend in Deep Cove can be pleasant with nice views and a number of Cafés to walk to close by.

• PUBLIC TRANSIT: If you are planning to get to Deep Cove by bus, the bus stop is close to "The Deep Cove Government Dock". For bus schedules search "tripplanning translink". Getting to Deep Cove from Vancouver takes one to three buses depending on the time of day and the selected bus route. For visitors coming from the Vancouver International Airport taking a taxi or public transit to Deep Cove takes roughly one to two hours.

• WATER NAVIGATION: If you have your own water transportation Fernleecove is on the west side of the inlet in North Vancouver and just west of the Brighton Beach community. The GPS coordinate of the property is 49 degrees 21 minutes 31.39 seconds North and 122 degrees 54 minutes 7.82 seconds West.

PETS, are they permitted at the cabin?

BOAT TAXI, is it $80 each way?
It's $40 one way or $80 boat taxi fee total for a stay at Fernleecove.

The Fernleecove cabin has a minimum booking of 2 nights. However a one night stay can be accommodated with a two night booking.

EXTRA GUESTS, How many guests can stay at the cabin?
The Fernleecove cabin is limited to 4 guests because of septic limitations and because of the amount of general wear put on the cabin with larger groups. For more then two guests it is $50 CDN a night per extra guest for the third and or forth guest.

DRIVING, Some maps indicate that there is road to Fernleecove, is it possible to drive or bike to the cabin?
There is no road to cabin. Some satellite mapping interprets that the powerline path behind the cabin is a road that extends to the private lane-way "Sasamat". In actuality it is not a connected, drive-able or cycle-able road.

FERNLEE ADDRESS, The listed address for the cabin leads to a dead end on digital maps?
This is because there is no actual road access to the cabin. Access to the cabin is by boat. See Fernleecove listing for more information. (Airbnb requires a listing address please just ignore Fernlee's)

Fernleecove is in a rock fish conservation zone so it is illegal to be fishing in the area between Fernleecove and Twin Islands. Please web search Indian Arm fishing regulations for more information.

WIFI, What is the WiFi password?
The WiFi password is posted above the fireplace mantle.

EMERGENCIES, What if there is an emergency for a water access property like Fernleecove?
If there is an serious emergency phoning 911 is best and will likely result in The North Shore Search and Rescue responding by boat. For emergencies that do not require medical personals to help with transportation I can water taxi or arrange boat transport back to Deep Cove.
