Romantic & secluded this self -contained cottage is nestled amongst native bush. Metres from the water's edge, with jetty & ramp, free use of kayaks, Stand up paddleboards. 25 minutes from Rotorua, just 15 minutes from the airport. 5 minutes to the nearest cafe. Enjoy bushwalks or world-class mountain biking in the Redwood Forest. kayaking on the lake or even take in a rafting trip on the popular Kaituna river.

This well-appointed cottage, or what we like to call a true KIWI BACH, caters to romantics with beautiful linen, mood lighting, and importantly a well-equipped kitchen. Snuggle rugs and cushions for cooler evenings are just some of the little features that make your escape to the Love Shack special. A compact cottage, the space gives you everything you need for a cosy and comfortable stay. Our guests enjoy filtered drinking water on tap Microwave, double cooktop stove, large fridge/freezer, a new Weber Q BBQ, and outdoor heater. Blue tooth speaker, DVD player & TV, Oversized garden bean bags for relaxing in the sun. The deck has a modern glass screen to provide shelter and extend your outside enjoyment without obstructing the views of the water.

"A perfect paradise for rest and rejuvenation! Beautiful bush environment, filled with birdsong...so peaceful and right by the lake edge. Having kayaks and SUPs to paddle about exploring was great. The cottage was very cute and comfortable - all facilities you could want, even a worm farm for vege waste. We wanted a quiet sanctuary to relax and get away from it all and this delightful wee place delivered. Information, communication and checking in were all excellent and easy. We'd love to come back!"

"If time out from the hustle and bustle is what you're looking for then this is the place for that. We just loved being right by the water. The use of the kayaks and sup boards was a definite bonus. There's a nice little cafe close by that has yummy food and being from Tauranga it was only a short drive away. Florence's hospitality was A+ we just loved it here"

The Lake District is a special place, known as the third-top 'Must see' destination behind Auckland and Queenstown, for overseas visitors. Rotorua and the surrounding district offer many opportunities to enjoy the best the great outdoors has to offer!
In addition to the many thermal wonderland attractions, The Redwoods is a must for some of the best mountain biking in NZ. If you are into kayaking, boating, hiking, fishing, golf it's all here readily available. Lake Rotoiti offers amazing fishing for those who want to try their luck fishing for rainbow trout, water skiing, and the amazing - Manupirua Hot Pools which are only accessible by boat. There are also plenty of bays and beaches on this lake that can be explored by boat or kayak. The very popular Okere falls food store is a gentle 20-minute walk from the Love Shack and is a great place for food, coffee and supplies(some of the most reasonably priced coffee around). One of our favorite things about our location is the proximity to water - the Kaituna offers some amazing frills - with Rotorua Rafting offering White Water Rafting. Rotorua Zipline operates from the Rotorua Rafting base as well and just a short 5-minute drive from the Love Shack. Papamoa Beach is a mere 30 minutes drive door to door - perfect for those who fancy some saltwater alongside their freshwater escape.
