This is my dream half day in Chicago: Spend some time boating on the Chicago River, bike along Lake Michigan, and check out the Art Institute. I am not so much a tour guide as I am your friend in Chicago showing off the best parts of the city in a way only a local would do. Are you ready? Let's do this! We begin with a Chicago Water Taxi ferry boat ride to see downtown's riverfront architecture. It seems like there's a new building going up everyday but I have a soft spot for the historic high-rises. Let's find your favorite building! Depending on the ferry schedule for the day, we'll spend 25-50 minutes boating. A Chicago Divvy bicycle is one of the best ways to explore the tucked away side streets and beautifully landscaped parks of Chicago. We'll do just that as we bike about 5-7 easy miles, making our way through historic neighborhoods and along the Lake Michigan bike path. Chicago is in full bloom, just ring your bike bell when you'd like to stop and take a photo! Our bike ride will end at the Art Institute of Chicago museum where general admission is included and you are free to explore the world class Impressionist and modern art collection at your leisure.
