We will start at my neighbor's house-- he makes ceramic pottery in his front yard, and we will learn about the process from clay to fired product! Take a short hands-on class with him to see how they turn the wheel manually with the feet. Next we will visit a small home art gallery/museum, where artists can work and sell their products. Handmade, fair trade products are how Cambodians preserve their culture and tradition. We will learn how the artists apprentice to develop their skills, and the meaning behind the designs carved into the temples of Angkor Wat, and the Apsara dances.
Hello! We are Haley and Sothy, and we have been working in tourism in Cambodia for more than 8 years. We started designing sustainable, local, and immersive programs as a way to invest money back into the communities where we live and work, and sharing our passions with you. There is so much to experience in Cambodia beyond the temples of Angkor! Join us to learn about the life and culture of Cambodia, and making friendships with local people. Learn about the history, but also about the future goals of Cambodians. Look forward to meeting you and exploring with you!

My neighbor's house is a small traditional house close to the temple complex. His front yard is his studio, set up for making the variety of handmade designs. The fair trade handicraft workshop is where local artists can come to learn, craft, and sell their products at a fair price. They are all handmade, so each piece is unique, and quality. The silk farm shows all the processes of making silk, dying the colors, and weaving it by hand.
