We meet at the Franschhoek Adventure Centre in the main road of the village . From there we walk down to the local Medicinal Herb Garden and meet the curator who will give us a walk through the garden. Following this, we will be transported to the informal settlement of Langrug where we will be entertained by the local music group and have refreshments with Aunty Ruth in the area of Groendal. We will then visit a sewing project that provides skills for unemployed community members and receive a small gift from them. We then move out of Groendal towards Wemmershoek where we visit the local Khoisan Chief in his kraal and after hearing some of his fabulous stories, we share a traditional lunch with him and his community members. After this culturally enriching experience, we are brought back to the Franschhoek Adventure Centre. This cultural tour is full of entertainment, interaction with the local people, fun, history and delicious eats with a local flavour. An action packed tour which will leave you with a better understanding of the South African culture.
After living in Frasnchhoek for 8 years and getting to know its people and culture very well, I decided to become a guide so that I can show off my beautiful town to our visitors in a unique and interesting way. I studied for my guiding certification and researched the tours I wanted to conduct very carefully and have put together a selection of events that will suit almost all our visitors. My intimate knowledge of the area and the people visiting us has ensured that the tours I offer are memorable and entertaining.
