****Now that it is getting colder, I'm offering fewer tours. If you don't see an option for a day or time that is convenient for you, please send me a message and I'll try to accommodate you!**** Urban Planning addresses a very broad variety of topics, it is the invisible thread that holds communities together. Some topics that fall into the urban planning bucket include: housing, sustainability, “placemaking”, biking and pedestrian infrastructure, and more! We will talk about all of these topics and get a chance to look at real life examples. I’ll greet you at the Damen Blue Line “L” stop where we can begin our excursion by making introductions. From there, we can explore Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. We will walk around the neighborhood for about an hour before we hop on Divy (Chicago’s public bikes for rent) and head to the 606 Bloomingdale Trail. This is an elevated bike and pedestrian trail that was formerly for trains. Next we will explore wonderful urban planning treasures in the Logan Square neighborhood! We will see sites related to housing affordability, transportation, and urban planning history. We will see the City’s historic, yet hip, Logan Square neighborhood. I’ll part ways at the Logan Square blue line stop. It is a different “L” stop than where we met, but I’ll make sure you feel comfortable going where you need to go!

I have been working in various government and non-profit organizations related to urban planning for over seven years and have lived in Chicago for over eleven years. I’m excited to share this experience with you!
