At this Mandala Meditation Workshop, Mahina will show you the very basics of how-to, so that you can created your own mandalas in the mediums of your choice (provided). What an individual will gain by creating his or her own mandala designs can only be experienced with body, mind and soul, and are absolutely unique to each individual. Our workshop: We spend the first 30 minutes or so leaning about mandala and the mandala meditation. Then we spend a short time warming up. (Stand up, walk around, stretch, and shake.) After warming up we spend about one hour drawing mandalas. Afterwords we discuss what the mandala reveals about self and what we learned from the experience. The term, Mandala of Hindu origin (Sanskrit: मण्डल Maṇḍala, 'circle'), is a spiritual symbol representing the Universe. Also used in Buddhism, and other religious teachings to help the aspirants focus attention, as an aid to meditation and trance induction for establishing a sacred space. In common use, mandala has become a generic term for any plan, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a microcosm of the universe.
Art supplies: pens, pencils, crayons, paint, paintbrushes, markers, papers and other objects to draw/paint on.
I am an accomplished henna artist with over 20 years of professional experience. My work in which many of my freehand mandalas are featured has been shown on various TV shows and on magazines. I started hosting mandala meditation workshop in 2013. In this workshop we focus on the process of creating the mandalas and its meditative and therapeutic effects. I practice mandala meditation as a self awareness tool and I am delighted to share this wonderful experience!
Mandala Meditation workshops will be held at a private home in North Hollywood within walking distance from the Metro North Hollywood station.
