Arlington National Cemetery is the final resting place of over 400,000 servicemen and servicewomen. With a commanding view of Washington DC, Arlington preserves the history of the United States' past. Every war is represented here, from the American Revolution to the present day. Two Presidents, thirteen Supreme Court justices, senators, congressmen, war heroes, and thousands of others are interred among the rolling hills, stone monuments, trees, flowers and modest grave markers. Take a guided walk through the cemetery to hear the famous and little known stories contained within this hallowed ground.

I'm a former architect and life-long lover of all things brick and mortar. I left my drafting desk in 2015 and founded DC Design Tours, a tour company focusing on the architecture and design of Washington DC. I prefer to talk about buildings rather than draw them. I'm a graduate of the University of Maryland Architecture Program and hail from the exotic suburbs of New Jersey, though the District has been my home since 2006. When not guiding, you can find me counting columns at the National Building Museum (there are 152) and traipsing through Rock Creek National Park.
We'll learn about the fraught origins of the cemetery in the midst of the American Civil War, while viewing the original home of the Custis-Lee families, and enjoying beautiful views across Washington. We'll visit two Presidential burial places, the Kennedy Family Gravesites, and the grave of William Howard Taft. Lastly, we’ll witness a powerful and moving tribute- the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
