They said that if you survived public commuting in Manila, Philippines, you are ready for the world! For this experience, we will visit iconic spots, business centers, and historical places in Manila like how the locals will do it -- through public commute. The trip starts the newest business center in BGC, Taguig City. In here, you will find skyscrapers, hip and trendy stores, and top restaurants. We will then travel by foot to Manila American Memorial Cemetery. This is the largest memorial for fallen soldiers of World War II outside US mainland, and is also a popular sight for bird watching. Afterwards, we will travel by bus and train to our next destination: Binondo Chinatown. This is the oldest Chinatown in the world and is a top destination for authentic Chinese food and cheap bargains (jewelries, electronics, cloths, etc.). We will have a stop in this area for a delectable Filipino cuisine and some shopping. Our last stop is at the historical Intramuros, the seat of Government during the Spanish regime, which we will reach through a jeepney. We will then ride a bamboo bike to roam around this walled city and discover its secrets
I am a resident of Manila, Philippines and live and breath the city-life for over 25 years. I have been commuting for as long as I could remember, and have been to every corners of the city, unlocked its secrets, and met different types of strangers. Though I am currently driving privately for economical and convenience reasons (I am a parent of two), the thrill and joy of public commuting is chasing me. It is an experience which is very Filipino, and I wish to share them all to my newfound friends.
