Take a bike tour of Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn Bridge Park and the DUMBO warehouse district. We’ll start with the charming streets of Brooklyn Heights, where you'll see some of the most historic and luxurious homes dating back to the 19th century. After a stop at the beautiful Promenade, we'll zip through New York City's newest and most exciting 85-acre waterfront playground, the Brooklyn Bridge Park (just opened in 2010). There will be stops in the shipping and warehouse districts of DUMBO, Vinegar Hill and the Brooklyn Navy Yard. You’ll get a peek into the history of Brooklyn’s maritime shipping industry that once thrived on these docks and cobblestone streets. And of course, I'll share historical insights into the twin icons of New York City's East River: the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges.ri
I’ve lived in Brooklyn 25-years and am a licensed NYC tour guide. I am fascinated by the Big Apple's history, which at times, seems well-hidden by all the modern glass and steel. But the artifacts of our 400 plus years are still visible virtually everywhere, if you just know where to look. It tells us so much, not just about NYC, but about the American experience, from the American Revolution to the industrial revolution and beyond.
Exteriors of noteworthy Brooklyn brownstones, such as Truman Capote's home and the home Cher lived in in "Moonstruck." After we take in the magnificent view of Wall Street's skyline from the promenade we'll see how defunct shipping piers have been converted into a beautiful and functional 21st century park. Then we'll see warehouses built to store coffee, tobacco and Brillo pads, that are now chic shops, swank restaurants and luxurious lofts.

I have assembled lists of local bike shops that can offer reasonable day rentals. The tour is 90 minutes, but you may see many things you may want to go back and explore. I'm happy to help you plan.
