Do you need to de-compress, restore, renew and rejuvenate? Or just to step out and disconnect from your busy world for a few hours of self-care? We will meet in a parking area near the forest where our walk will occur. You will need to be comfortably dressed to be outdoors for 3 hours. This will not be a hike or a rigorous walk and we will not generate much heat through exertion--we will travel a total of about 1 kilometre on mostly level terrain, travelling slowly, noticing the world around us. I will offer you invitations for ways of interacting with the other-than-human world, engaging all your senses. You can choose to accept them or not! I will be asking you to turn off your phones and to not take photos until the last 10 minutes on the return journey, if you wish. At the end, I will offer a small nut-free snack. If you have any special needs or desires, just let me know!

I am a Forest Therapy Guide, certified through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, and a certified and experienced teacher, through OCT. I love taking outdoor lovers on a Forest Bathing Walk in the woods (Japanese call this 'shinrin-yoku.') , discovering nooks and crannies, waking up one's senses in the natural world while slowing down, mindfully wandering and intentionally spending time among the trees. This can have a remarkable healing effect and is an incredible antidote to our nature-starved lives.

We will go on our forest bathing walks in local parks, but off the beaten path. The park and path are chosen based on the weather and the specific interests of participants.

I didn’t think I was going to like this. I almost didn’t want to. But then we started. And I was into it. It was relaxing, and creative, and different in an excellent way. There was peace and quiet joy. It’s something to do for you. A gift to yourself. Beth loves what she does and it’s hard not to feel that, too. She was warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, committed, real, safe, and passionate. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and really loved not knowing exactly what to expect beforehand and what was next during. An excellent afternoon all the way around.

Going into the forest with a guide is a really unique way to experience nature. It's a rare chance to disconnect from your electronics/life challenges and reconnected with nature. This was my 3rd chance to experience forest bathing and I really appreciate Beth's gentle way of giving opportunities to fully embrace the forest. I've used some of her concepts on my own and I feel it's helped me to tilt my perspective away from the busy-ness of life and into the tranquility of nature. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to open their senses to the forest with a trained guide.

What a beautiful experience we had forest bathing on this sunny winter's day. Beth was so welcoming and created a very safe, curious and incredibly enjoyable moment for us to have. All aspects of the programming flowed seamlessly and we came out of the forest feeling grateful, peaceful and delightfully refreshed. HIGHLY recommend!

You’re giving yourself a gift by saying yes to Beth’s Forest Bathing experience. You’ll feel refreshed, renewed, reflective and just plain happy that you were part of this. I was a ‘hesitant’ participant first time round knowing nothing about what this entailed. As a bit of a Type A person, I thought it might feel like a long time in the woods, not covering much distance, but with the gentle ‘invitations’ to be fully present of our surroundings, to use our senses more deeply and to be mindful of our own connections, the time flew by. Beth is a skilled facilitator with the ability to sense the needs of both groups and individuals. This is an experience for people whether they already spend a lot of time in nature or not. It can be either a reminder of, or an introduction to the role it can play in our lives. I’ve been lucky to be part of a summer ‘bathe’ and now a glorious winter experience - both deeply rewarding. Besides what the forest itself provides, Beth’s friendly, warm, positive and infectious spirit makes it all more than worthwhile. Give yourself the gift!

We will be walking outside for the duration of this experience. Please come prepared for the weather of the day! I will be inviting you to turn off phones and only take photos in the last 10 minutes.

Guests need to be comfortably dressed to be walking safely outdoors for the entire time. Hiking boots or sneakers, a water bottle, a small back-pack to hold layers of clothing if desired. In winter, wear more than you think you will needs as we will not g
